Bowhunting

When you kill a animal with a bow and It runs off more times than dieing right away , will that affect your score from becoming a diamond animal? If you don't get all three bonuses and one Is not a 100% bonuses. Really because In real life most deer bleed out after a short while after running away, This Is not a gun where as In real life deer or animals do run off after being shot. Is this game set up so you can't get a Diamond If you have less than all three 100% bonuses? Its really hard to one shot on the spot every time with a bow...I don't want to use a rifle. Dead Is dead for bows It can take longer to recover animal.......

the game does need to adjust the quick kill timer in my book for more forgiven side and the consective harvest dont get me started

I've only had 3 diamonds and 2 were using a bow. Most all of what I come across are golds or lower & I don't specifically hunt for diamonds.

Who are you kidding everyone hunts for them I have lots of golds hoping they might score a diamond you just don't know.But when this game Is set up when you shoot a diamond and It runs 100 yards and then you don't score a 100% quick kill you loose that chance at a diamond thats wrong , I might as well grab a gun and one shot everything no more than a hundred yards , Even this game pushes for diamonds ..........your supposed to fill the lodge with Diamonds animals and a teal..everyone looks for boone and crocket bucks and to be In pope and young Archery.........

Maybe In a few years they might change that , It took a long time fix wind affects on arrow flight. I posted so much on that back In the day , Back In the old days If the cross wind was blowing hard left to right or right to left at 60 yards the arrow would drift at least 4 to 7 feet now Its more like what happens In real life I shoot Victory Vap arrows 166mm in dia there so small In dia they cut thru the wind like a bullet very expensive to buy but best In the field. At sixty yards Victory arrows would drift about 12 inches at the most. And the new bows like the one I use has 90% let off
the PSE carbon air you can hold your bow back for at least 2 minutes before fatique sets In.Not 20 seconds like In the game...This bow shoots so flat I shoot 80 yards for practice 60 yards are np for these bows to kill now.......west coast hunting Is a lot harder we don't have tree stands and Its hot as hell during bow season....

I'm not "everyone" and I don't waste my time actively looking for a needle in a haystack. If the shot at one presents itself, I'll do everything I can to bag it otherwise I focus on sharpening my shooting skills.

It seems to me that the problem of bow hunting and lung shot animals running past the 100% quick kill bonus may well be fixed. I lung shot three cape buffs tonight with a x Bow, all double lung and all died with 100 % Q.K. bonus. Two were 7s and returned a gold.
I also lung shot 4 cape buffs with rifles inside 50 m. 3 with the nitro and 1 with the 7mm.
3 were single lung and ran me over and killed me before dying and the fourth got a second shot from the nitro and dropped at my feet. They were all less than 100% Q.K.
I had been shooting the odd Buff with the compound before the last update but find the xbow better in the scrub because the scope gives a better view through the foliage.

Overall choosing between the 338, 7mm mag, the nitro or a bow, I think a bow is definitely better for 100% quick kill returns than a rifle when shooting at close range.

I prefer bow hunting as it's less strain on your ears. I've killed thousands of bears (my favourite animal in game) with one shot... My biggest gripe would be that as you have to get up close and personal to use a bow, or crossbow, the game should be much more lenient with the hunter with regards cash, points and how skittish the animals are when using the bow??
I've shot bull elk and moose with the .338 with a vital hit and they still don't go down... The spine shot seems to have been programmed out of the game as well for some reason.....
I think the Developers are piss arsing around at times with a game that is worthy of much, much more....
Having used various weapons in my time, the distances and damage are totally unreal as is the wobble effect holding a rifle when prone..... Please GET IT SORTED...

That and how Demi God-Like the Animal Senses are. Half the time, they've already Seen, smelt and made Coffee LONG before they make ANY sign that they are there. I think there should be a Slider when in Single Player that allows the players to Toggle how easy it is to sneak/attract the Animals. That way those of us who aren't looking for a Simulation but love Hunting somewhat can just go out and get some kills.

The way I look at it a recovered animal while bow hunting or rifle as long as Its recovered should score whatever It Is a diamond Is a diamond no mater what. I think the devs could fix this with not to much trouble. Right now Im playing Parque Fernando a few animals On this map are hard to get close too. The puma gives me more trouble getting within 40 yds Is really hard most shots are 60 plus yds shoot with a cross wind at 60 yards Is tough but It can be done In this game there Is a margine of a mistake of arrow placement. , mule deer seem to be real tough getting close to on this map. Buffalo are easy can crawl up to herd and do them all In and red deer. Your right about the wobble effect If I did that In real life I might as well give up hunting Its a little to much wobble , but let me say this I have a Ziess rifle scope 6.5 to 25 power this scope Is so sensitive when looking into eye piece your eye has to be perfectly placed to see thru lens Its really a horrble scope. The wobble effect should be done a little better , Its not a game breaker but It would add a little more fun to the game, high powered optics rifle scopes can be a curse. I own Ziess rifle scopes for long range and In mid yardages 6-5 to 20 Is the best scope for In the field because you can still shoot on the run and lock on to animals faster If you have to. The 6 to 25 power Is just a pain In real life for targeting . They do a good job with there high powered scope when you put It to your face. The wobble effect could be worked on but like I say Its not a game breaker. This post here Is about the quick kill bonus It can stay In the game and give you extra points but don't lower the animal score because It does not drop at your feet every time after a long recovery. And thats the way It Is In real life...........and i will never post any more for a month.
