.338 bear hunting...

Getting 0 integrity if I shoot for head shot or lungs/heart. Isn't this rifle meant for big game? I was getting 100% integrity with it a few days ago. Any help would be appreciated

Brown bear? It is too big for black bear for sure. I think 7mm is best for brown bear

Yeah I knew it was too large for the black bear, but a few days ago a buddy and me were hunting the brown bears and I'm pretty sure I was getting 100% integrity with the .338, oh well, guess I need to go back to the 7mm magnum. Thanks

Yeah that's what I generally would use for those three but the 338 is no longer giving me the integrity for whatever reason

It was changed.
The Dev's made that happen.

The .338 used to be viable for Black Bear integrity.
and now... it isn't.

Fact is... the .270 can replace the .338 with a well placed shot.

But you'll need use a lighter rifle to obtain integrity on lesser animals.

Or in my case... at Lvl 60...
just shoot everything with any gun ya like and screw their integrity BS. : )

I utilize the .338 and .270 most always...
And I've earned $ 6.3 million in that process.
Guess it's all you get once you reach Lvl 60.

.270 and .243 if integrity is your goal.

I utilize poly tip ammo on everything that can shoot that.

Correct, but the 7mm does give 100% integrity. I use it all the time

I've never received 100% integrity using the .338 on anything smaller than an Elk or Gemsbok. If you were getting it on Black Bears you must have had a lucky glitch.

I should have clarified this, but when I was hunting even the much larger and louder brown bears I was still getting no integrity with the .338

Either way I guess I'll switch back to something smaller caliber. Thanks for clearing this up for me everyone.

12 Ga Buckshot no longer gives integrity on deer either. Perhaps we can use it on Brown Bears.

I've just been hunting on Medved and got full integrity on Brown Bear with the .338, so... For sure you can't use .338 on the Black Bear on Layton (you'll have to use something like the .7mm, the .270, the .454 or 16 GA slugs work quite well too). Hope that helps.

Hmmm. Could have swore the other day I was getting no integrity but perhaps I shall try for some brown bear this afternoon. Thanks
