This game is unrelentingly cruel
Doing the "Harvest a male European Bison over 700kg" mission and I have killed 5 male bison so far. ALL IN THE 690s! AUGH. And since there is no way to call Bison, I'm stuck stalking around need zones. AUGH.

Love this game but ssserrrriously sometimes with the missions.

EDIT: Haha, behold the power of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! Just after posting this I almost ran into a Bison on my ATV, hopped off, and plugged him for an 840kg.

I bet you will enjoy shooting red deer from a ground blind from over 100m

Heart shot a gold red with the 270 or "Don't Ruin the Goods", took me quite a while.
Still haven't managed to drop a fox over 200m in the cornfields.
Tried stalking, flushing, ambushing and praying. Game says "No"

Lol I killed a Fox at over 200m in the cornfields just because I happened to spot it and thought, "Why the hell not." I'm sure the mission will take me years.

One guy had a nice solution for the 200 meter fox challenge. Set up a tent (where you know there are foxes in the area) be >200 meters away from the tent, start calling it to your direction, and when it's close, fast travel to tent and shoot it from there.

I haven't bothered with that one yet. I don't really care about foxes and rabbits, as I have problems enough with seeing smaller deer in the vegetation.

(The 'bow challenge' for the fox were more or less pure luck, as I were sitting in a bush, thinking of other stuff.. and one showed up 10 meters away just as I turned around and had a bow equipped (one of the few times I ever carried one), and didn't even remember that mission were active)

the fox bow mission was so epic.....

took me a few hunts of fails and missed archery shots

but i love hunting the foxes in this game

you have to choos a spot with clear ground cover, then start calling

or they are really hard to get a shot off on in thick cover

Bisons will definitely find you when you dream at night.

Oh man, I just had the Night of the Coyote. I got the 2 at Levi Lake, the one at Cheelah lake, the 2 at Cheelah Hiking Cabins, and the 2 with the .357 revolver. All in one night. Suck it, dogs.

Yeah it is. I've played countless hours, and the one time a diamond quality animal comes up is a bear was walking right towards me and it was going to get spooked. So I shot it with a .270 and it dropped almost immediately. I go pick it up and it would've been my only diamond but it was my first kill of the day :(

Look around the Spreeberg Castle area. Usually tracks of a lonely big Bison.

i spent most of my time for my first year in COTW as a Buffalo Hunter, took hundreds and hundreds, i would find a heard and take them out one by one, herd after herd, you guys having issues finding buffalo? i never did, might take a day of not finding anything, maybe an entire weekend, then when you are about to give up, you hear the call and walk into them... buffalo are easy, they dont pay any attention to hunting pressure and are slow. and stop allot, they move in large herds so easy tracking... and all in the same area, southwest corner...

single bison are usually large point males, those are choice and always go for one if you find one.

yep did that one very long time a go for foxes, use a tent , only way, took several days to find a suitable spot , find a high ground spot with a total view in front of over 300 m there is a few in central area with great long range forward viewing ,once your in the high ground spot , the rest is simple good luck , the in map towers are hard dew to the wind direction all ways flows to the incoming called animal which sucks ,all ways has. but there are 2 or 3 that can work ok . bison use the high ground as well and spot the larger ones of the herd, early morning late afternoon is best , just know your areas takes a while scouting the areas , is must to find the best places ,use the high ground with long front views takes a while but worth knowing the maps any way
