Still haven't managed to drop a fox over 200m in the cornfields.
Tried stalking, flushing, ambushing and praying. Game says "No"
One guy had a nice solution for the 200 meter fox challenge. Set up a tent (where you know there are foxes in the area) be >200 meters away from the tent, start calling it to your direction, and when it's close, fast travel to tent and shoot it from there.
I haven't bothered with that one yet. I don't really care about foxes and rabbits, as I have problems enough with seeing smaller deer in the vegetation.
(The 'bow challenge' for the fox were more or less pure luck, as I were sitting in a bush, thinking of other stuff.. and one showed up 10 meters away just as I turned around and had a bow equipped (one of the few times I ever carried one), and didn't even remember that mission were active)
took me a few hunts of fails and missed archery shots
but i love hunting the foxes in this game
you have to choos a spot with clear ground cover, then start calling
or they are really hard to get a shot off on in thick cover
i spent most of my time for my first year in COTW as a Buffalo Hunter, took hundreds and hundreds, i would find a heard and take them out one by one, herd after herd, you guys having issues finding buffalo? i never did, might take a day of not finding anything, maybe an entire weekend, then when you are about to give up, you hear the call and walk into them... buffalo are easy, they dont pay any attention to hunting pressure and are slow. and stop allot, they move in large herds so easy tracking... and all in the same area, southwest corner...
