Lions hunt you!
I was crouching near a lake watching 2 male lions drinking when I heard grass moving. I didn't even get to turn and a female had jumped on me and I died.

Before that I watched a female hunting and creeping/crawling up to a Kudu but I didn't see an attack.

Adds a whole new element now that something can hunt you.

PS. I mentioned about half a year ago that predators should be able to interact with prey or eat your kills, so if you harvest after its been eaten, you get less points. Good on them for adding realism like this.

+1

Also before the lion update I was no fan of Africa, but now the lion update break any fun for me.

I wasn't one of the player base that wanted loins, but I'm finding it a very different game experience being knocked down a notch on the food chain. Hunting in Africa feels dangerous now ,I'm enjoying the challenge.

I mean i guessed they would XD and just like in hunter classic i enjoy the fact there are things that hunt you or attack back, thats one reason i LOVED hunter primal, buuuut i was playing cotw earlier, and a lioness ran up to me and then ran straight past me and just carried on lol
Who knew lions were stalking predators? The education system these days...

I am pretty sure lions, like humans...are pretty quiet when they stalk and hunt... jus'sayin..

I am still hoping for "The Hunter" to open this forest up as a Battle Royale game ... Best forest in the gaming world.. Sooo they got my vote and thanks for adding in the element of danger.. If you walk in the North American Woods and swamps there is a good chance a gator, Mountain Lion, Black bear or Grizzly will walk away instead of attack.. but, there are times they do attack.. that's life.. this game is a short moment of life.. things get compressed..

Not a bad idea at all. Also, there are a number of popular games where players play both sides so there is no AI involved. Imagine if you could choose to play as an animal. Your goal might be to get from your sleep area to your watering area without getting picked off. No more bugs about animals running in circles. And if you are an apex predator, then the goal is hunt the hunter!

I say we keep this a hunting game add predators that can hunt you if you become easy prey , but those who want a game you chose a faction go to world of warcraft or any other wargame.

Oh I agree..keep this a hunting game.. but a new game release with same engine and maps for a battle royale.. would just be fantastic.. add a few more homes.. drop people with guns already in the game..and the atv's to get around.. add the ever closing wall.. would work.. But.. I don't think they have the netcode capabilities for a 30-60-100 man game though.. I doubt they could do that at this size and talent available..would take a Triple A team to make this change over.. ( that was just hype to kick them in the pants..:) ) A The Hunter BR - 24.99 stand alone.. yeah.I would buy that.. :)

There are indy studios that are quite successful producing and supporting types of games where humans play both sides. Its definately doable. If they had made this game modable, they wouldn't even have to do any work. Talented people tend to congregate around modable games and make them a lot better... and that drives sales.

IMO, too much time and investment in this wonderfully detailed world to not think of repurposing it.

Saves you having to get into range I reckon.

Personally I love that there is now an element of danger in this game. I would like wolves and hyenas added. If you kill a lot of animals in the same spot the smell of blood attracts them. Stay out of the pink zones or find may yourself surrounded by 5 or 6 animals that want a piece of you

Has anyone confirmed that the lions do get attracted to the downed animals? I've been wanting that kind of behavior simulated for quite some time. Do we now have it?

I haven't played for a week or so, but I hadn't seen it before then. I've shot a few animals hoping to attract lions, but it didn't work.

I had a gemsbok I shot lying in the middle of an open area at the twin lakes. The lions were chasing wilderbeast up on the hill and running down but never went near the gemsbok
