By playing the game and doing main quests including side quests you be able to gain for 'point' and 'perks'.

Happy hunting!

There is a limit to the number you can get. I believe it is 22 of each.

Anything which earns you XP, like doing main and side quests, finding artefacts and antlers, building hunting structures plus of course by hunting animals, levels your character up to lvl 60 maximum.

From Lvl 2 to 37 you get 1 point each, alternating between Skill point and Perk point. Then there is a gap, you get the next point at lvl 40, then 43 etc. for a total off 22 points each.

You can't get ALL skills and perks which are available, the points simply aren't enough for that, so use them wisely. Alternatively you can reset your allocation by paying ingame money as often as you like.

You get a point every level, from level 2-36, it alternates between skill and perk points, with skill at 2, perk at 3, skill at 4, perk at 5, etc.

Once you hit 36, you get a point every three levels, with the next one being a skill point at 39, perk at 42, etc., to the max level cap of 60, for a grand total of 22 skill points and 22 perk points.

You cannot earn enough skill or perk points to fill all of those skills/perks available. Choose wisely.

But you can change them (at least a Lvl60)
Tho' you'll have to pony up the game coin to do that.

You don't get more XP then what you originally had...
You simply get to alter (rearrange) what you already have earned.

So if you want to improve (concentrate) on your bow skills / perks... you can do that.
But you could lose some other pertinent skills / perks when doing that.

But I'll guess you can change them back to what you had...
if one pony's up some more game coin.

I don't know if there's a limit on how many times one can change those.
I've never bothered to alter or change mine.

I reached level 43 two days ago and got a Skill point. When reaching 40, I got a Perk point. It is not 36 - 39 - 42, instead you get points at 37, 40 and 43 respectively.

Maybe it was different earlier at some time, but now it is as I wrote.

Hoschi48...must be a bug on your end. When I count backwards from level 60 (which is when you get your last point) PicSoul is correct. With your numbers your last point would be at level 59.

Yes, and that is what makes me curious what will happen at lvl 59 or lvl 60 - because the sequence of "every 3 levels 1 point" doesn't fit in here in my case.

But it is as I said here on my end, 37 - 40 - 43.
