I would ,however, love to have this feature to compete against myself and against my wife. You definitely should be able to select whitetail deer for instance, and click on a filter to only include you and your friends. You should then be able to click columns to see top 10 biggest, highest scores, best trophy score, etc.
Considering that this game does not even protect your saves (I have already lost them five times and now keep them separately), it means that the developers would not be able to protect the scoreboard as well ...
Amen to that Brother Gunny.
@Southernman 72, you and your wife would surely enjoy using the trophy lodges for comparing your trophy scores, BUT even though I do appreciate EW creating the option to view trophy info at a click, there is not alot of information included, so I suggest keeping your own hunting journals for those mounts which will show distance shot, weapon used, how many shots to take down, etc.
In this way I am also able to keep track of my trophies in the trophy manager and avoid getting them mixed up.
At the time I take down a trophy in the field, I immediately write down the stats into my journal, or on a piece of paper from which i can later copy the stats, and in this way I am able to later find that exact trophy from the trophy manager, usually distinguishable by its score which is usually always different.
Another thing I have done with my lodges is make a map of the layout, number-coding each mount by Lodge, floor and room, which I add to my hunting journal, which also allows me to keep track of where each trophy is placed.
The trophy manager does also have a feature which shows what lodge it can be found in, but not the exact room location, and sometimes the lodges suffer a bug and mounts get misplaced.
Keeping my own journal has also allowed me to keep details of particular aspects of those hunts which helps to remind me of it when i am viewing those mounts.
I hope you fill the magazine with screenshots?
Why write it manually?
That is, I am also fanatical about this, but I think you complicate the process for yourself)
nah not really friend.
its just a matter of having the journal or note pad sitting at hand when i play so i can jot down the stats before i lose the harvest page.
Its extremely helpful in keeping track of my trophies, and it only adds to, enhances the enjoyment of taking those trophies.
theres no burden involved.
you want to talk burden then we coulkd have a discussion about the way i log my forze 4 horizon vehicle stats, haha.
The tagging in the new trophy lodge system is a good step, but it tells you only about 'the trophy', not 'the getting of the trophy', which is just as important for a hunting record. It would be nice to know that "this is the lion that killed me as I killed it" and "this is the wildebeast that wasn't stuck in a bush when I shot it", plus detail of weapon, range, time of day, etc, would be valuable to know.
Since I also had/have a trophy lodge for each season, once they were released, I knew immediately which critter should be taxidermized and mounted.
I've tried that off and on for COTW and the stats in COTW are pretty meaningless to me
