Worth buying
Hey everyone, i've been wondering if this is worth the money to get its on sale so now would be as good as any to get. Seeing people are having a few bugs does any get in the way of being able to actually enjoy the game?

I bought the game about a month ago and I've been having a blast. I don't feel that the bugs are game-breaking, just a bit irritating at times. Most of the bugs I've experienced are UI/menu related and are not noticable while actually hunting. The newest map caused some problems for AMD users, but the devs sorted that out rather quickly.

In my opinion, the base game and the tents DLC are really all that you need. The base game offers plenty of action and for the current prices, it's well worth trying. Play for a while, then add some others if you feel that you're enjoying yourself. I believe the sale will go until at least January 1st.

Warning, purchasing this game will keep you up at night. You will think of it in your sleep. You will play as much as you can. You will forget about all that is important. Your life goals will be put on hold and your only concern will be where to find the next kill or beatiful landscape picture. Consider yourself warned., and have a great time playing COTW.

it's a great game and worth every penny you'll spend on it.

What he said ^^

I'll add though, that I think it's a real shame we do not have a proper history, so we can re-visit previous kills and see various info and whatnot.

Be forwarned. The game has no pause button and only one save game file which the AI controls. There's a little silver blinking thing that appears in the bottom left of the screen when the game is being saved.

Every time I think I'm out of the game for the day...it pulls me back in.

Based on my own experience and other people's reports it seems like singleplayer is the most stable of the two game modes available. Most bugs, glitches and crashes come from those who play co-op, so if you're worried about that just stick to SP.

The DLCs are fairly priced for what they offer but if you're strapped for cash and just want to test the waters first, stick to the main game and the Tent DLC. That should give you enough content to last you a coupe of weeks. Should you still be interested in the game afterwards, buy the reserves.

Reserves add more content to the game (new maps, animals, weapons and lures) and the Tent DLC is just super convinient - basically a portable outpost. Just plop in anywhere on the map to gain access to your cache, store and a bed to skip up time. You can also fast-travel to it, useful when you have missions all over the reserve or need to take a break from the game, as then you don't have to make the whole trek back.

Is the game worth it though? I very much think so... I mean, with 170+ hours clocked into it I think it would be pretty telling. It's the kind of game that will eat hours off your schedule, easily.

I would add that for a new player the weapon pack that includes the crossbow is well worth the price. The weapon you start with is not really powerful enough for the bigger animals but the crossbow will drop any animal in the game.

Animal behavior is very basic and there are bugs riddled throughout. That being said it's a fun hunting game when it works.

Yeah, it is worth buying if you do not expect a FPS or a survival sim or a game in which you can fish, or shoot aliens, dino's or endangered species with automatic assault rifles.

The game is about hunting, walking a lot in nicely designed nature, being stealthy and patient and trying to drop animals by hitting it at the right spot.

Pretty good game. But keep in mind, Dev is more into designing it to look nice and pushing paid DLC's than making all work flawless technically.
I am playing it regularly for over a year now. So, I like it a lot. However, it is annoying that encoutrers old bugs that should have been solved long time ago. Except for occasional crashes not really game-blocking. But annoying -certainly if you like the game- yes!
