Is the population supposed to be this low in africa?
after 7 hours i have only been able to get 18 animals? i have almost 400 hours on the other maps and havent ever had this bad of luck. on the other maps you go 10 to 15 min max before seeing another animal. something just dosent seem right. is anybody elsanybody else haveing this same problem?

Well the "poachers killed off all the animals you really want to hunt" anyway.

So I'm heading back to North America and trying to get a refund on Africa anyway. Yeah the time I spent there it was quite empty and what is there isn't much to get excited about...

that's the biggest joke about the map.

why would poachers hunt crocodiles, or hyenas? there not even birds or insects flying on the map. (besides the white "fumes" in the air, i hope those are not supposed to be insects...)

Ya the real fun ones seem to be missing. I’m really hoping that after finishing the poacher missions the population will go up but that might just be wishful thing.

I will say with how open the map is I can see why they would lower the animal population.

There might not be as many animals but the ones I did take I spotted from close to max viewing distance and stalked them.

I think it's supposed to be haze from the heat. Pretty difficult to replicate in a computer game on that scale without melting your video card I would imagine.

I'm not too concerned about animal types in the game. I like how there's at least variety. My problem is the lack of population on the new map. That combined with the skittishness of every animal makes me feel like I need to traverse the map prone to kill anything or spot it from a great distance in the open plains areas. It's not fun. The new map is a walking simulator and it needs to change very quickly. Plus, the callers? For this type of map you need callers. I know the rattler and jackrabbit caller work but it's not enough.

I've put a good 5 hours into the new map with only a few kills. I don't run either. I walk and crouch around. So two seconds after I post this, I'll be playing classic and out of principle, will not be spending any further money in it until they fix the current issues.

Honestly I havent had any problem with trying to find animals. Theres gigantic herds of Springbock everywhere, Kudus are also plentiful and theres enough warthogs and jackals around. The only animals I have trouble finding are Wildebeest and Buffalo, but Im assuming I just havent found the right areas for those yet.
Ormy Aug 31, 2018 @ 2:50am
I think this is because herd sizes are bigger in savanna. You see less frequently animals but there are more when you come across some. At least that's what I've experienced. I might seem empty if you happen to roam area between herds.

Did just spend the last hour killing 18+ animals from jackals to springbok and blue wildebeest and cape buffalo. Patience is definitely a must. Quit running and spend more time walking slow or stationary, the rewards do come in.
you do need to be a bit more cautious in animal areas. do that you will see plenty of animals. there are groups sometimes of 30 animals of certain species. just travel about explore.

There are huge heards of wilde beast and springbok Vuxa on the west side of the big road, east of the big road there more kudus..start headin north now and see more cape buffalo

It is like the world all got weeping over a bunch of pixxel critters.
I just think of all the scumbag >royalties< and well known >famed< people in RL that made trips to Africa just slaughtering animals everywhere near extinxtion....

Why the hell do we need to suffer for those slimebags getting everything they want in RL and have trophees hanging over theire mantel-pieces....

I SAY BRING IN MORE KINDS OF ANIMALS AND ATLEAST THE BIG FIVE..
i CERTAINLEY WILL NOT BUY ANYTHING THING THATS EVEN CLOSE TO PAY TO PLAY DLC THATS NOT UP TOO THE DEMANDS OF THE PEOPLE PLAYING THIS MONEY-GRABBING GAME.

I got all DLC..

i uninstalled this piece of hypocritical garbage.

I'm thinking this as well have stumbled on some herds but I know sometimes I will be at a look out and bam nothing in sight. But it seems more common on this map to find herds rather then the loner.

But perhaps the devs can look at this some as it's sort of easy to be between herds alot and have nothing to hunt!
