Tracking without cues. Is it feasible?
I like to switch of all the game type HUD so I have a nice clean, uncluttered view. In my quest for immersion I've tried tracking without the visual cues (glow and particle) but I'm finding it almost impossible to follow a spoor trail. Does anyone track without the cues? If so, have you got any advice for the armchair hunter?

some claim to do this but I think you will find that most agree that some form of track ID is needed to reliably track the animals as no info makes it extremely if not impossible to track

I’ve tried it. I don’t take a shot unless I get a double lung which in return will produce a high bleed rate and minimal tracking due to it being a double lung obviously. It can be done as long as your placing your shots properly. Like in real life if you shoot sloppy you’ll most likely lose your animal. Hunting will all hud elements off can be done as long as you hunt accordingly.

That’s a good point. I’ve found it difficult to track animals, but I think my shots have been poorly placed resulting in the animal making a getaway. I’ll have to take better care with my shots. I’ll persevere with the no HUD and see how I go.
if you play it a lot and get a gut feel for it you can do it. you just have to except that obviously without visual guidance it will take more time to find the animal you shot. i play sometimes with everything off exactly as you. as i prefer nothing on screen.
For those who do play without the info does it still display on your huntermate as I seem to remember someone saying it did display there still. Or did I just misunderstand the post I read?

Yes, the tracks still show on the huntermate so you can make a guess at where the tracks are heading from the ones you've already found.

It is nice to play with no HUD info, you can pick up the environmental cues for the wind really nicely :)
