Where are all the bison?
I use to always see herds of them in Ernsdord and I'm not even seeing any tracks? Even tried a pretty big area around the South West corner of the map and all the way to the gorge and still not a single track.

Hmm. Did you try around Spreeberg too. South and west of the small lake there? I just heard a call from one close to the spreeberg outpost. (I know that doesn't mean they will be on your map as well ;-))

In fact I have 2 need zones for bison in that area. 1 just north of the "Spreeberg Outpost" and one to the right of the "SPREEBERG" name.

Also south of Tichenau Lake, above the outpost. I got 11 Bison there a couple days ago.

I just tracked 2 big bison and literally right behind them at about 300 yards waiting for the perfect shot and all of a sudden they aren't there anymore... only the females. I backtrack and shows me tracks as if the males turned and somehow got past me.... bull%^&*. Game cheats so bad. Like yesterday got a big red deer buck up north and massive heard of females and somehow my dead buck vanishes and not even a single track of bison even though there had to be around 30 of them

I'm trying to knock out this one mission and for the life of me I'm not running across any male bison above 1400 or so pounds and it's BHANDARI #5 and need to harvest a male weighing at least 1543.24 pounds

I don’t know much about the Hirschfeld missions. I pretty quickly found out that missions in generel was too hands-tied for me.

Must be nice. Would love to see a Dev say why some users get a completely different experience than others. The amount of animals across all maps should be the same for everyone, but apparently not.

They are just hiding from you, and having a good roar about it ;-)

Im on ps4 if that makes a difference. Hardly find bugs on there. Ive been running after bison for hours picking them off. Been very profitable

bison are super hard to track and can detect you from 200m away (most of the time a lot of stuff is obscured by vegetation and hills) by smell, sight, or hearing. And often times when they are aware of your presence they will run, wait, spot you, and then run or maneuver around you.

The Bison (as well as a few other species in the game) are pretty good flankers so I'm not surprised. Can't count how many times I've been unexpectedly flanked. But I wouldn't say the game is "cheating" you. You probably just didn't expect them to take a path around you like that.

It's not about the flanking, I know the fox love doing that as well... but back when i started playing in April... I always saw them, heard them and tons of tracks and now every map is almost like a ghost town for anything. Except for red deer up in the north west which always seem abundent.
