Best Bow Hunting Stragities?
So, I haven't touched the Bows In-Game yet but always appreciate a good Bow, I do Archery Compititions in my Town and even own a 55lb Compound and a 185lb Crossbow. So, i figured I'd try the Archery Hunting Style and need some good tips and tricks. I've actually had to restart the Game due to a small bug with that left me Perma-Trapped in a Blind (Reported Bug), and am in the Lakton District (I already know i butchered the spelling) and have just reached the first Outpost with (roughly) $3,500. So, any Tips or Tricks, things i should avoid?
P.S. I plan to have a Pistol as a Back-Up.

My only suggestion with bows is hide under trees where your visual line is disappeared, and just use callers and scents

bows are hard to use in prone mode btw cause ya can't use the aiming, the aiming only works in normal and crouch mode, so don't bother getting the prone mode perk

/\ Pretty much this. You need to get really close to the animal, like within 30m, so you're going to do a lot of sneaking around and it ends up being far more effective finding some good crouching cover and calling in your prey. You can take out whole herds by repeatedly shooting and calling them back in quickly though, which is a good way to farm xp and cash.

The caller-centric method restricts you to hunting whatever you have callers for, but unless you level up archery and get the heavy-grain arrows you're also limited by the basic arrows in what you can bring down - basic bow and arrows combo works fine for Coyote, Red Fox, Whitetail, Blacktail, Roe Deer, Fallow Deer, Musk Deer, and I've also had success with it over short distances on Elk if you aim for the lungs and heart; you can easily get double lung from close in with a broadside shot.

I suspect it may therefore also work on Black Bear, but I haven't had the nerve to try it yet considering what happens at those close ranges if it goes wrong! And it may also work on Red Deer, but I haven't tried that either. I shot a Boar with a bow - it died but it wasn't a good kill as it ran a fair way. I also don't know about Lynx or Reindeer, but as it works on Elk I guess it's possible.

Moose and Brown Bear are probably a no-no until you get the better bow and heavier arrows.

Yah, before I had to restart i used the Starting Rifle on Black Bear, Moose abd Elk, as long as you get a good shot it should go down.

What's your advice for Skill/Perk Set-up? I was thinking of Sneak and Caller being Top Prioraty for Skills and Archery/Pistol for Perks. Anything you'd recomend?

It happens when you use aim mode on an animal, I forgot about that, its a good tactic to see if the bow is lined up in prone mode.

Bowhuntig is very satisfying. It's easier with callers, but you can stalk a prey w/o problems. The strong point of bows is the penetration. You can down with quick kill 100% any thing with a proper shot of a basic arrow. Learn the anatomy of the preys and try to catch more than one vital with one arrow. Place que shot slightly from behind trying to catch the liver or stomach to produce bleeding as you take a lung. Heart shots are extremely easy as spinal and double lungs.

I don't think that the best side weapon is revolver. The hand guns are some kind of easy mode bows. They are much precise at the range of bow and the good expansion of the bullets makes that you can have easier kills. Wen I go bowhuntig I take a small/medium rifke with me for Longshot opportunities.

And I prefer hirschfelden for bows.

Oh! And a working strategy is to use the caller to make the target come straight, directly to you and take a heart shot. You can even headshot most species, but is not advisable. And with de bigger arrows an arrow to the chest, right betwin the arms, is an overkill even for the biggest bulls.

I'm afraid I agree with =EGC=_ Nite_
I can't see the point of this perk at all.
Crouch under a tree and use your callers.
If you have the zeroing perk your bow sight can change from 20 to 60 metres and it's now accurate since the last patch.
You can drop animals from 80 metres without a problem :)

Some good advice here actually, unlike YouTube where it's people trying to give "advice" but refuse to give advice to Novice Bow Hunters. I moved to the Lake District since for some reason the Wild Game in the Germany Area is all but Non-Existant. I walked for almost an hour IRL and didn't see one Animal. I eventually moved to the Lake District and bagged 3 WhiteTail and 1 Blacktail in 5 Minutes.

Any other Hunting Advice?

Also, as for Skills, I'm currently Investing into my Stealth and Caller/Sents Skills for Hunting, hat a good Strat?

If you have problems seeing animals try this: go to lakes or rivers (lake preferably) at dawn or dusk hours. Aproach slowly when you're at 250-200m. And try to be as hidden as possible. If you don't find game there is a big possibility to find tracks that you can follow to find a need zone with some game. Don't haste when you are stalking prey. Usually walking standing up is enough. Usee droppings to now how near are they.

Indeed that way of hunt is very close to the IRL way to hunt some species.

The stealth skills like soft feet and improvised blind are a must for my stalk & call playstyle. The crouch/walk along with both levels of soft feet make it a lot easier to sneak up on animals drinking, resting , or feeding. Improvised blind makes it harder for animals to spot you when you are in trees or brush.

Always watch the wind direction. It is even more important with bows due to the shorter range at which you shoot. First, animals can smell you and leave before you get in range for a shot. Second, it can push the arrow off target (but it isn't near as bad as it was).

If you don't get an instant kill, try calling again or creeping along the path the animal ran & call again. Sometimes they will double back to the call and you can get another shot. If there are a couple of targets, you can usually get one & then call the others back for a shot at them as well. The bow is quieter and doesn't spook the animals as far as a firearm will.

Basically what I've been doing. I've lost a few Bodies due to the Heavy Brush and the Animals somehow just vanish so I'm not able to locate them, but been good. I seem to have more Luck in the Lake District, especially in Balton.
