How to get gold or higher score for bison

Hey, I am trying to fnish the mission "Fliescher: Stuffin Them All" but I cannot get gold in bison.
Can somebody teach me where I can or how I can get it done. I am trying from days. Seen only 3 very easy level bisons only.

You can get Gold from Level 3 bison, I know because I had at least one. It is probably not guaranteed, but possible if bison is large enough. I had one with 734kg and 191 trophy rating, giving me 817 harvest score. I shot it with CB-70 420gr arrow, hitting heart and both lungs

I am also using same bow. I have killed atleast 15 bison today. Most of em are level 3. Even with one single shot. And weighs more than 800kg. But still getting silver.

Maybe something was changed in 1.17?
In my experience, if you get all bonuses at 100% and bison with trophy rating at least 191-192, you should get Gold

Wow, it is almost diamond!
My highest score in the game at this moment came from bison too, but it is only 918

so close to diamond haha, man its a pain to get them, I got 947 on an Elk Bull which is my best

find and track the solitary male bison, those are usually gold, the ones in the herds sometimes are but usually its the lone bison that have the gold score.

Could be true, but the largest one I saw only once (Level 5) was leading a herd

yeah, lots of variation in their behavior but so you really never know, but most of the gold buffalo i take are the lone very dark males. got one last week, walked up on him sleeping, so i got close and nailed him with a spine shot and he just twitches and dies, was totally perfect. easy gold.

Ya highest level is medium (Level 5). But I havt found any single one yet. I think it is time for a long walk.
Btw I did got really close with level 3 yesterday. But its really frustrating. I hope if anyone here knows the location where large bisons mostly are.

The update didnt really change anything good for me though. Only worst. Rabbits are gone, animals are glitching like hell now. But most imprtnt game performance. I am getting less frames thn before. Atleast 8 or 9 fps difference. But wind noise is crazyyy high. Animal calls are less. Interface only got shrink whch is good but menu panels are still same and weird listed. Weapons sounds r lower whch dnt bleed my ears now. Specially shotguns. phewwww. But 6gb of updates dosent seem like. mostly people add dlcs or expension with 6gb update.

nglswt I got that bison far west of Jonsdorf hunting cabin by the lake side on the west edge of the map.

It's clearly an area for high scores but low population. I was staking a high level red deer when this bison stumbled upon me.

I was actually hunting Red Deer, but needed a gold bison & gold boar for the mission, I got them both in this area. In fact i only shot 3 animals, 2 gold & one silver. (Silver red deer)
