.270 Vs. 30-30?
Which is more powerful/easier to get vital hits with (using a high penetration ammo)?

The only thing a rifle has to do with whether a hit is "Vital" or not, is that you use the right rifle on the right animal, and aim in the right spot.

T answer your question, a .270 is more powerful than a 30-30. Therefore the range is greater. A 30-30 on say Blacktail or Whitetail at say 100yds, you should be good.

it depends where you hit the animal too, I always try to go for the neck so I have a 100% score on everything when I harvast it

Agree with rammak

.270 plastic tip works great to the point that i don't usually use the 7mm. Great for >150m sipinal or heart shots. But 30-30 is wonderfull for <100 barrages. Precise, quick and lethal.

yea I don't like the 7MM either its too weak in my opinion, I love the .270 and .45-70 for now, and gonna get the .338 soon

.270 is comparable with .45-70

30-30 makes a good crowbar. Far better to throw it at them.

30-30 and 45-70 shouldnt be compared with the modern rifles. Better compare them with the shotgun. Its a shortrange weapon with low bullet speed. It provides more power at lower distance and quickly looses energy at higher distance. Its benefit against the 270 or 243 is the higher fire-rate.
