Stand hunting even possible?
I think the stands around the map are not really worth for hunting. I only use them to look around.

What are you guys thinking about these blinds and stands?

Once your higher level. They work quite well.

How so? I am level 20 and have built a couple but kind of wish I hadn't.
they work okay not somthing id rely on 24/7 i wanted to get my bow score and i had a good herd of deer both black and whitetail that would consitantly come to my call i got about 11 of them with the bearclaw lite bow you almost need animals in the area before you enter the stand

Right now the stands aren't at the full potential.
From what I heard in rl, hunting in a stand means waiting all day for one animal.

There is an active perk which, gives the players an idea if there are any animals in the area. I haven't used it before so I don't know how it works. It' the last perk in the rifle tree, I think, but might be a different perk tree.

In COTW, even if you hear an animal and call it over, it may not come.

The stands and blinds will really come into their own, once the dev make, feeders for boars and bears, maybe other animals too.
Decoys will also help.

In classic they have these. you set them up and add the feed. Next hunt the area will have a higher population.

Even in Classic the stands kinda didn't matter, except for looking around.

Plus when you aim, you can't rest on the structure to stabilze the shot. And you can't crouch.

That using the structure to help stabilze the shot is so going in the thoughts and suggestions page

The blinds are useless IMO

The stands can work... but there will be alot of waiting.

I feel the stands worked better when the XP level was low.

I rarely use the stands now... and prefer the ground or perching atop a rock/boulder.

ON stands or boulders delays hunting.
Run around on the ground and wait to hear a warning call.
Call those species in... and make the kill.

Want to net a Diamond... requires tracking them to be more effective.

It depends on the location, Ive had a lot of good hunting around lakes for all kinds of animals even rabbits. Use your calls and if you dont see anything in a little while move on.

Some stands are in locations where, if you have right calls/lures and deodorant, you might have a slim chance of success. Most are not. I've taken some animals off of stands that I might not otherwise have gotten but not one stand has paid for itself yet. I'm at level 15 so as more calls/lures and deodorant become available those stands might actually pay for themselves. Then again, maybe not.

I'm sorry i'm level 60 and if you put at least 10 skills in ambusher to get who's deer skill , then stands work well.

A good reason for the dev's to either increase the level cap or get rid of it. There are a couple of perks, that are designed to help with stands. There's that perk which extends the range of callers, and the one which let's the player know where some animals are when your close to them.

That's probably one of the ones you mentioned Mickey1940. I've forgotten what they are all called.

i use them all the time, very effective, call em in and wack em and stack em. just need to find a stand in an active area, most around south layton are good

Recently I've found a few that I've been using to boost my pistol score by slaughtering blacktail deer.

when these feeding stands are going too be release, these stands will make sense.
one aspect i really miss from classic is this outleaning on the stands to avoid shooting the wood planks.

Hard to tell. I hope within the next few updates. We got the boars and bears. And the feeders came into Classic kinda early compared to some of reserves, and animals. And as you said, they were quite popular. I think if we get the feeders, they might also have the tripod stand, and maybe tree stand made as well.
We'll have to wait and see.
