West of the Besplodnoye Plateau Southern Outpost; 5435.802 , 5809.083....a hidden lake (not on my map)....1600 hrs....5 bears, 6 Reindeer, n 4 musk deer....at one time...never saw so many bears together...they all took off after I took the first reindeer n never came back.......still

What you have found is a Brown Bear Need Zone 3:00-7:30. Thats the most likely time you will find some there. Could be 1 or 6 it depends but worth a visit anytime.

The Medved Tundra is a Bear hunters dream I have taken hundreds there.

This was @ 16:00 hrs.....speaking of which...just because the need zone says it's for a particular animal, doesn't mean it's for that animal only; I have found different animals (@ different times) at need zones that were supposed to b for animals other than those that were there. An interesting twist...and yes, bears can b fierce n deadly....especially the #6s n up.

If you have muffed a shot and it is charging you then just step to the side a few meters and watch what happens.

Like I said ,worth a visit anytime and you are correct, you will find all types of animals visiting the zone but bears more likely. Took a 8-Mythical there.

If you're worried about bears work on your pistol skills. At close range the .454 will drop any animal in the game with one shot.

i'm leveling my shotgun, i found the pistols to be harder to use if you miss a few shots, luckily the shotgun has spread so you're more likely to kill it. haven't unlocked slugs yet but when i have i go straight back to medved to shoot some bearz.

Shot gun is good, but u need to b very close to put it down, otherwise ur tracking for awhile. If u like shotguns, slugs r the way to go. I'm going to c how the bears n moose react to the .338.

So I go back to the honey hole @ about 5: 30 am n there before me is 8 bears, 8 reindeer, n 5 musk deer. When I left, there were 3 bears, 0 reindeer n all of the little muskies (they don't really interest me for some reason) there's no call for them ....the whole lake was covered in bright pink...

if you go the big lake with a rifle.. that's relax man, you can just walk around trough the middle and snipe all kinds of animals. put a tent in the middle for ultimate lazyness.
