Question marks in green circle are unknown points of interests. They could be anything, not only hunting structures but usually it is non-built hunting structure. You don't have to build them, they are rarely useful anyway.
Knowing that now by you confirming it, my main gripe as I implied was having to waste time going to the question marks only to be 'annoyed' I have wasted my time seeing they are unbuilt hunting structures as I have no intention at present of paying to erect them. It's a pity we can't be told what these things are. They may be question marks for the reason of making us wonder - but rarely am I happily surprised by them upon arrival... :-/
It is not a massive deal as I can do so much while travelling to them but I needed to ask if I was missing something but when you are aiming to get funds its a little annoying to spend time finding out the question mark is all about spending...
Thanks for the reply.
In a "fress" restart the (?) Marks can give you an interesting bunch of free xp, clues and info. They can be a structure or an info point that gives you xp and many times clues to know the Maine base of certain species (if it gives you info on wild boar that is a wild boar zone....) And in some scarce times clues to find artifacts or other collectibles that are an ok way to gain free XP.
About the gamezones... Are very important and unnacurrate. In a same game zone you can find different species, or marked species at different time of the day, or even nothing but previous tracks that guide you to a new (may be populated) need zone.
When You know enough need zones and info about the hours the game fulfills they needs you can make a mental map between need zones an try to make use of natural choke points, structures, far use of callers or scent bassed ambush (but for the two Last it's always preferably you know and have previous eye contact on the prey you want to attract... Eye not 2 other clues like 'just now' droppings and near mating call)
About structures, they're usually near of or surrounded by need zones, so are a good landmark, erected or no, for raids and walks looking for game
Well done. They're often in places with superb visibility or as said 'explotable' need zones. Remember to give some time to the game to get used to the new structure. When you plant a blind the animals are scared away from the zone. Preferably fastravel to do another thing else where on give time to the animals time to return to the need zones
Nope, they don't scare when build structures
I don't pay any mind to need zones. Many of them become dead and do not disappear from the map. Every so often I will actually delete the "found need zones" file, as my map gets far too cluttered for me (I wish I could just turn them completely off on the map).
Let me give an example of how some are just meaningless/dead. Each need zone (when you discover it) will tell you how many animals make up that need zone (it's there when you examine it). But let's say you see (without spotting) a single bear eating, shoot it and walk up to it. You will see it lying on a discoverable need zone. If you do not examine the track, and simply pick up the bear, the need zone track will disappear. However, if you were to spot the bear before you shoot it, or examine the need zone before you pick up the bear, there will now be a need zone marked on your map for a single bear. But you've already killed it...
IMO: Need zones are good for one thing and one thing only - the same thing that tracks are good for: Telling you what animal was in the area. I'd never use them "at a later date", or go back to a need zone on a different hunt.
Stands/Question marks:
It's just a way to get you out and exploring. You don't have to build stands if you don't want to. It's been a while, but I think early on they give you xp, so if you are looking to level, you can judge which is more important to you, money or the xp. I do use SOME stands sometimes, if they happen to be in a good place and give me a better vantage point for long distance shots. But I don't sit in them for very long when I do.
This is something I've been paying alot more attention to, normally a Zone will disappear when I've harvested him. (I rarely shoot anything without knowing at least one or two Zones for it)
This is assuming I ever shoot anything without Spotting it and not alot of things get actually shot in my game. My game is a bit different from others, I hunt for...zones. Don't think about it too much.
