Tracking question.

Do animals bleed out eventually regardless of wound size.
Do animals regenerate health(overtime/when near a feeding or resting area)?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think there is a bug. I've had that. Happened with both vital hits and non vital hit animals. They would wonder for miles with a health of 25-0%. I'd catch up eventually and see the animal with an indicated health of 25-0%
But they do bleed out normally.
my last hunt, i had 2 muck deer, one died pretty quick the other,,, somewhere.
Not sure if te recover, but i do wander myself sometimes.

Also i noticed, you got a flesh wound.
If you get a flesh wound and it's very little bleed. then you might want to leave it and find something else.
But I've had a flesh wound for a gunshot to a deers face. So I think the devs should maybe create a new wound desciption.
Minor wound for muscles and flesh wound for grazing shots.

Animals usually bleed out from any wound except larger species - elks and moose can survive flesh wound which usually has very low bleeding rate. They can stay as 75%-100% health, or go down to 50-75% or even 0-25% but will not die. They will either regenerate health somehow later, or respawn as 100% healthy during next game start, I am not sure about exact process here. There is also a glitch when wounded animal you're tracking runs away beyond 500 meters from you - it does not exist anymore although tracks still generated, usually characterized by straight lines and repeated pattern (track - blood - rest - track - blood - rest - ...)

P.S. If they didn't bleed out within 2-4 minutes, they most probably won't bleed out ever. Watch hunting pressure as indicator

Both in game and IRL, animals can/do heal from some wounds (clarification - in game it's a bug for them to "heal"). However, there are bugs in the game in which animals that SHOULD die out do not. There are "zombie" creatures in the game. You could chase a blood trail down forever, with the animal at 0-25%.

I've had one bleed out from getting clipped in the ear according to the shot diagram. I don't even remember how long I spent tracking that darn thing but it led me on a nice long chase.

At the moment I just look at the hunting pressure indicator and when it shows up, I know what I shot has dropped so I then start tracking it down.

Otherwise I just wave goodbye to them. I spent 2 hours tracking one deer and it just would not drop when it was running at 0-25% health and just bleeding. I gave up on that one.
