Can't put tent in inventory

If this has been discussed already I apologise. After playing the game I pitched the tent and logged out as usual. When I logged back in the game won't let me collect the tent into my inventory. I've even reduced my inventory to 5 or 6 items and still can't take the tent!! Is this a new bug? Or am I missing something. Thanks in advance for any help given.

try reducing to a rifle ammo and scope. it's the only way you can reload when you get to where you are going.

You have to activate something else in your quickslot. Just press another slot number. I hope this helps.

yeah for me just removing all but one rifle is usually enough and don't have to touch anything else just two rifles.

So for me I have 1 rifle all my scopes and ammo and binoculars and all my callers and can get a tent of blind no issue

yea, i can get the blind in one slot and keep everything else loaded up, but for the tent i have to empty all but a single rifle, ammo and scope.

Could this have something to do with the problem i had with the blinds, Where when i set one blind, I had to set three, even though i didn't have that many. Does the game think you have more than one in your hand?

yeah could be what Ram just mentioned above as I remember this myself where even though you have placed the tent or blind there is still in your inventory until you clear it back out by putting those back into the storage area

Thanks to all who replied. I reduced to 1 rifle and ammo. Did 2 quick travels and 3 hunts, problem sorted. Have callers and tent now back in inventory.

Watch weight, no need to throw out everything, just get your inventory down to less than 14 kg, because tent needs 6kg and your maximum without backpack is 20kg

I've also had a few occasions where you literally have to unload everything to get it to pick up a tent. Normally it should only be an issue of space, but sometimes there's little "burps" in the system.
