The mosin nagant ammo is a joke.
How could the dev just give a 17-17 soft point ammo to a level 2 weapon. you could only use it to kill coyote.

The ammo stats for this weapon mean nothing. Have you actually tested it?

Honestly, the Mosin-Nagant is one of the funnest weapons to fire in the game in my opinion, and it completely dominates its targeted class bracket as is, if it had polymer tipped ammunition in the right hands it would make even the .270 entirely useless.

I'd prefer keeping as many weapons relevant as possible, min-maxing for integrity bonuses is fun.

Try it out, it is not as bad as the stats say.

Used it at Layton for the Quick-Kill-Community-Challange yesterday. Its at the upper end of class 2 and you will down all class 2 animals (whitetail, blacktail, falow deer....) almost immediatly. Most of them lay in their first blood splatter.

My community challenge is empty always, any reason?

Yeah try the MN out, it's probably the best weapon they've added in a weapon pack. Probably the best rifle in the game for it's class as well. Also extremely accurate at almost any range. I've taken animals from 300m+ with it easily.

you are right ,my first kill is 150m with a heart shot on a moose, the dlc weapon statics is now rightly displayed.

I have used the 1890 to kill just about everything in this game, I have even taken down water buffalo with it. How many of you use the Trajectory perk when hunting, I have taken down Black & Brown bears from 300+ yards and the same with Elk & Moose.

As most have said its pretty much a power creep weapon the pen on the ammo makes no sense.

It's little bigger than a .308.

Which is odd of why it's only class 2.

Wrong. 30-06 Springfield has pretty much same bullet than .308. Only the case is little longer so it can have more gunpowder in it.

Moron Nagant is using russian 7.62x54R. The ballistics is really close to .308. In my country the hunters are using more likely 7.62x53R instead of 54R because of the military background of 54R. After the war weapons were chambered to 53R so they can't accept military loads.

Some of the Finnish Mosin's were 7.62x53R.

The only Mosin's that were ever 30-06 were some oddball Bannerman conversions of Russian M91's here in the U.S. Most of those were either Remington or New England Westinghouse produced.

The MN 1890 is a great gun, I initially had issues with it as well but after using it for a bit, it has supplanted my .270 Huntsman as my primary rifle, got a Diamond male Black Bear, Level 9-Very Hard, at around 100 yards with a headshot, while it struggles with moose and Elk it's good for just about everything else below class 3.

It also has very quick follow-up, accuracy is also really good.
