Where do I find "quests" to hunt specific animals for exp/money?
I don't know how this game works. I did get a quest to take a photo of a fallow deer and now it's just disappeared off my phone even though I had accepted it ages ago. How do they work and where do I actually find these quests ?

You have to select it under the Missions tab for a quest to appear on your phone. The missions are give to you as you move along in the game by folks you cannot interact with. Check your "missions log" to see whats what. Normally a new mission is assigned when you complete one.

Thanks, I'll give it another look. I did recall looking in there and then completely forgot how I got the missions list up. It is just Esc -> missions?

Yep, top of the list.

I just realised I've been playing with a friend so that doesn't show nor does the quest to take a photo of the deer. :(

I don't use MP so don't know how missions work in it.

You can't do missions while in multiplayer.

Missions are the quickest way to get it but you can turn them off and just randomly hunt for it too

So missions are meant to bring up markers where to take a photo? because I don't get any of that?

The map is suppose to give you a hint where to take them, then you have to be standing in just the right location for it to trigger during the picture

I'm struggling with this game. I've been trying to track a fallow deer last night for 3 hours with nothing in sight. What should I be looking for and how to tackle this? How embarrassing.

If you can already see the animal sneak towards it as slow and silent as possible and bring yourself in a position where you can take an easy shot (or a photo in your case). For photos you need to be pretty close for it to count. Make sure the wind is not in your back or it will smell you.

If you can't see the animal but have it's track, run after it until the poop (or the disturbed vegetation if you have that unlocked in the skills tab) says "Just Now". Then you start to slow down so you can come closer to it before it notices you. You know you spooked it away if it's tracks say "Run". Then you need to go even slower or wait in the need zone it was in so it can come back to you.

Thanks for the reply. I finally managed to picture one. I shot it in the head twice and it ran off. Gutted.

No problem dude, happy hunting :)

Just as a tip, lung shots are really easy for a beginner if you have trouble bringing stuff down otherwise
