does this game teach you about actual wildlife?
minus the hours of waiting probably

id love to visit national wildlife reservations and national parks around my country, but dont actually want to do an animal behaviour minor to be able to see and track wild animals

Well, the game tries to recreate wildlife behavior but I don't think it is good as educational tool

This game is a hunting simulation but it is still far from reality.
It has very beautiful graphics, beautiful landscapes, it is well designed and we take pleasure to play and it stops there.

Tracking a wild animal in RL is VERY difficult under the best of circumstances. In this game tracking is difficult and that's despite having illuminated tracks to follow. Noise and scent control, learning when animals are most likely to be active and how to read terrain...those things can be found in the game.
no man its a game, its mean't to be fun. it would be like asking if arma is a realistic representation of being in the army

hmmm thanks guys! very nice comments <3
I probably will get the game just to see for myself anyhow. why not, eh?
you can legit run around and shoot animals ive legit shot an animal out of a herd 10 or so yards away with a rifle and the others in the to the herd legit sit there for a few seconds *longer than normal* to debate what to do then try to run dosnt happen all the time but still happens id say once a session at least 1-2 hours

well... Classic - can give your the basics about hunting or wildlife. pheasant hunting with dog in classic is very similar to real.
COTW is more about need zones, stealth and sneakin during the hunt.
