Axis Deer Spawning
I would like to spawn a diamond axis deer for the trophy lodge. How can I accomplish that goal? I thought if you took out all the level-4's in a herd, eventually a level-5 would spawn.

I have working over a group of 15 axis deer. There were three level-4 deer. I took them out. Two more level-4 's spawned. Took them out. Only one level-4 spawned. Took him out. Now. I just have level-3 bucks. What am I doing wrong?

Can someone tell me how to spawn a level-5 axis buck?

They respawn as similar quality animals as you killed them. Killing for level X animals does not result in more level Y animals.

There is no way to predictably spawn diamonds. However if you find a need zone that has a diamond at it... after you kill it, there is usually a decent chance another diamond will be there a few IRL hours later

Best way to increase your chances of diamonds is to collect as many need zones as possible and to not despawn them by killing 4 or more animals over the need zones

Agreed. The good Captain has hit the nail on the head.

It is obvious my system for spawning axis deer does not work. When an axis deer of lvl-4 is killed, it is respawned as either a lvl-3 or lvl-4. Killing a lvl-3 deer will always result in a lvl-3 respawn. Eventually, the herd you are hunting will be all lvl-3's using my system.

There is always a lvl-5 Medium Diamond spawned somewhere on the map, when you begin each game. The problem is finding it.

Captain, do you go from lake to lake to looking for the diamond axis deer? Do you check for need zones and axis deer tracks at the given lake? If no diamond is found at the lake, do you move to the next lake?

Captain, I have followed your posts on this board. You know this game, so I value your response.
