Rare fur types of mallards

Hi, I´ve been wondering if its possible that mallards are more likely to have rare fur types. So far I´ve seen (and killed :)) 5 piebalds, two of them are mallards. Also the only melanistic I´ve encountered was a mallard. What do you think; is it completely random which animal has the rare fur type or are mallards more likely to have one? And are there albino mallards in the game?

Congrats on your rare birds. The answer to one of your questions is yes, some species are more prone to have certain rare furs/feathers than others. For example Whitetail deer are more prone to be piebalds than Coyotes or Mule deer are more apt to be dilute in coloring than Blackbucks.

Ok thanks for your answers. I am still looking for an albino moose but it seems like ill have to hunt them a lot more :)
