Advantage of .270 over .243?

If you compare the polymer-tip bullets for both, there is really only a difference of 5 points in penetration and negligible in expansion. And both are rated for "2". And both have an effective range of 150m.

Yet, at least statistics wise, the 270 has a much worse accuracy? So is this really only for close shots on only slightly larger game than what a 243 can comfortably handle?

Quite a stupid concept. But the .270 is a good medium that can kill most animals in the game with 100% integrity.

You can kill anything with most guns with a close range heart shot.

Using the .270 on Blacktail ior Fallow deer (or anything smaller in size) will result in the loss of 100% of the integrity bonus. That amounts to roughly the loss of 166pts from the total possible score of the animal, turning diamonds into gold or silver.

I've also had no problem dropping animals with the .270 at ranges up to 300m. It is nice flat shooting firearm.

.270 is stronger overall. If hunting on Layton, you can use it for any animal from whitetail and up - it drops a moose, a bear, and a red deer, you can even shoot them twice in a row to be sure. However, you would need either .243 or handgun for blacktail and coyote, on top of something for ducks and wabbits.

I prefer to carry MN1890, it has a punch of .270 with integrity of .243

+1 to the MN1890. The ammo stats are completely misleading. It has the range and power of the .270 and the integrity of the .243. Even works good for bear because you can shoot them twice and still get 100% integrity.

Which one is the MN1890? I don't see anything like that in the store.

you can use the whitlock as well it has the the same stopping power and integrity of the mn 1890 but its range is limited.
