Anyone done this quest yet?

It’s been tricky for me, spent past 2 days destroying bears but not got what I need.

Basically you have to heart shot a grizzly with bow or crossbow and score gold or higher.

From what I’ve killed so far it seems it needs to be level 7 and up to score gold.

Managed heart shots on a few lvl 6’s but just short of gold.

I never use bows or crossbows normally so can’t claim to be the most skilled with them. I have the zeroing perk which kind of helps but still a lot of skill is needed.

I done it with level 6 bear. the score was 802.
I used crossbow and 600GR bolt.

I had no enough bow skills. therefore I got close to them as possible.
I believe the only way is practice.

just finished the apex mission last night spend 4-5 game hours crawling around on the group to get my final animal a male bison. Didn't think I would ever get him the bear should be easy just wait for him to rear up and bam.

I don't personally like to use crossbows find normal bows more fun but if you are not use to them crossbows might be a little easier perhaps for you more like a gun you just have 3 notches in the scope to use depending on the distance. I don't know the accuracy of these ranged but this might give yu an idea

if it's like most missions you only have to hit the heart it isn't a sole requirement typically just has to hit it but can hit other organs also usually.

had one this morning first out got the right shot only to find out the last kill I made last night apparently did not get credited as when I harvested the one this morning it was at 80% UGH then spent the day trying to find another and just kept getting low level animals nothing in the gold despite the weights of some

Congratulations :-)

For me it's a ultra hard mission. I tried it so many times and hit everything (double lung etc.), but never the heart. I tried it with a bow as well as the crossbow.
Now I need a break. :-)

Took me a few days. Either the bear was too low level or I'd just miss the heart. But on a dark and rainy night I shot a big bear through the heart and it was done.

I can't get them to stand up. And when they do, they practically jump up and then jump right down in less than 2 seconds. It is the last mission I need (and any others that might come after, but I think there are none).

yup, got mine the second time he stood up. Was ready for him though, heard him coming back I went prone and moved off to the side and waited.
