Night hunting?
How do I hunt at night? There seems to be nearly nothing out (which makes sense) and I heard some of the game changes at night.

PS. I know about how the headlamp works at night

no you can hunt at night just as in day just have to look around more as harder to see animals further out.

You said you know the headlamp (L button for those reading this unaware of the head lamp) sometimes I find if I know there is an animal around sometimes I find turning off the headlamp when I am sitting in wait sometimes helps as don't need it for tracking when waiting so sometimes things just become more clear depending where you are on the map.

But yeah hunting at night is just as much as during the day in my experience! Even if animals are in fact asleep they are still there perhaps in a resting zone otherwise they are moving around.

Other than viewing distance, hunting at night is like hunting during the day. The only time I use my light is if I need to track something I have shot. Animals don't just sleep at night. They are always moving about feeding, drinking or resting.

There's no legal hunting at night in the U.S. that I'm aware of.
As it wouldn't be safe anyways.

I do not hunt at night in this game or in RL.
And it sickens me to have to pay more game coin to avoid that.
That's EXTORTION. And a lack of ethics.

Hunting from a blind or tower with callers is good at night. Choose a place that's fairly open for ambient light. If you call prey in and make a clean kill, there's no need for tracking or headlamps.

While still paying just sleep in a tent it's cheaper then outpost!

And yes some states do allow night hunting it varies by animal and state

Mostly all vermin of which I don't hunt in RL. Tho' I've no issue exterminating them.
Especially if they get into my trash.
People shoot at a target even when that can't see what they're shooting at.
Many people were killed because someone thought it was a deer ?

Too each their own... but I should not be forced in a game to participate.

I do have the Tent DLC and carry one with me at all times.

my thinking on the sleep fee is the outposts for sure you do not own those they are the reserves so is like a hotel you pay to sleep.

Tents well alot of times you pay for the camp site.

But the lodge is a different matter you own that lodge and should be able to sleep in it free especially since it is a hassle to change to it just to sleep but it should be free to sleep in it being it's your own home!
One downed animal is roughly $1000, and resting through the night is about $300-$500 (tent or cabin). I definitely down more than one animal during the day. As a game mechanic it seems about right.

I have no idea how that is a big issue. Pretty funny really.

On night hunting, regardless of real life as this is a video game, I find that sometimes night hunting can be necessary to finish a mission in a timely fashion. Some animals don’t really appear in specific locations unless it is nighttime. Must be something to do with where there need zones end up being located. Rule of thumb, if you can’t find it during the day in a required area, try the nighttime.

Also, what dog said, the night is a good time to work in stands and blinds too (map built ones or dlcs).

1. Guess one paying real coin for the game does not entitle one ?

2. If one sleeps at a KOA campground. But whom hunts around there ?
I generally place my tent in the wild when I hunt... no fee associated with that.

3. What lodge are you speaking of ?
I have the Trophy Lodge DLC but I don't see a tool box (bed) to change the time ?
In fact... I'm locked inside and can't get out physically anyway ?

The Trophy lodge has a bed in it.
He’s referring to the outposts I was calling cabins in my post.

No one would hunt the way they hunt in real life like they would in COTW. It’s just a video game with video game mechanics. Some good, some bad, but in the end it is far from real life. They’ll even mention how it is not a simulator in their streams. For better or worse.

guess you're right... didn't know one could interact with that.
Tho' IMO it seems rather useless.

btw my tent only costs $ 188. as opposed to an outpost costing $ 250.
Unless one changes the time constantly... and then that cost goes up.

I understand the game's mechanics...
But paying real money for additional DLC's should entitle one to avoid that.
I understand no one is forced to buy a DLC to play the game.
But if one does... they should be entitled to more perks.

I don't like to hunt at night in the game. I will for those missions that require animals that are more active at night, or if i'm out hunting and get caught between outposts, then i'll hunt my way through the dark to the nearest outpost and rest til morning.

There's no benefit to night hunting, it's more challenging, less animals, tracks aren't visible unless your headlamp is shining on or near them.

Hunt at night the same way you do in the day, just look around a lot more for tracks, and use your calls/scents more often.

1. No doesn't work that way with the base game and map DLC weapons even those weapons you have to still buy with game cash you don't just get them free except the DLC content which I disagree with I think you should have to buy them all the DLC should just grant to permission to use the weapon once bought. So consider that you pay to sleep but if you have the DLC weapons pack you haven't had to pay an in game dime for those!

2. Who knows as I have seen it both ways guess depends where you hunt. And yes I know there are also free sites as well you get that alot in Alaska being the size of the state.

3. Lodge its called the bed in your upstairs bedroom right side stairs. You can sleep in the bed as I did that when I was taking pictures of my mounted Egg White wolf as it was placed at night so I slept so I could also see it in the daytime.
