Hey Devs I've been going to South Lake over the last month now I haven't seen a single Whitetail Deer or Track there. How are we to complete the missions when we have no Target. I even set up a Tent so I could adjust the time of day nearly every single day and still nothing. Getting a little frustrated with this game.

Call or lure them in from adjacent areas. If U are walking, try moving in a crouch. U could also elect to apply hunting pressure in those nearby areas as many times animals will relocate to the outside border of pressured zones putting them within call or lure distance if not within the border of the required zone.

only stand in area , they have a need zone right by it from 5am to 9am

if you have need zones up you probably need to burn them and let it go back to a random spawn and this will get you your deer. This helps a lot when your just doing the missions.. BURN THEM ALL..

Eventually you get to know where the zones are... in a roundabout way anyway. I don't even use them I BURN everyone I get and I always have a map full of animals. Might not be the animals I want... but its something to shoot at.

Literally the single WORST piece of advice ever given by anyone regarding Hunter Call of the Wild. Anyone else visiting this thread for help with this mission COMPLETELY IGNORE what he says. In no circumstances 'burn' your hard-earned need zones.

This sentence says it all: 'Might not be the animals I want... but its something to shoot at'.

Visit the lake at different times of the day. Whitetail FEED between 5am-9.30am and 3pm-9,30pm. They DRINK 12pm-3pm and REST 9am-12-30pm, 9pm-12.30am and 12am-5am.

The fact that the area is dominated by a huge lake, drinking time should be the first port of call. Set up a tent in the area, and a tripod and have a good look around the water's edge.

I found a whitetail Need Zone to the south of the mission area...I called a gold whitetail across the line and luckily downed it inside the line. Felt good and now i know the area well, lol

found a bunch of whitetails at the southern tip of the lake at 22:40.

If you butcher every whitetail you see they soon will not appear. I had few killingsprees with crossbow and I had to delete 2 files (don't remember names anymore) on my save game to reset animal appearing. This happened with old save system over year ago.

Lose the tent and walk. Animals won't spawn within 200m of a tent.

Agree that it's stupid the game sends you somewhere there's none/barely any of that species. IRL a fellow hunter wouldn't do that unless they're a douche

I think the animals were more abundant or had different spawn points when the missions were made and that's why it's so difficult to find some animals in the specified areas.

I've done this mission twice and both times I found them at the NE corner of the lake. Yesterday They were there between midnight and 2am the first time it was closer to 5am. I was even able to complete Doc27 (harvest a male and female whitetail with a bow) at the same time.
