the .45 Air Rifle is my new favorite weapon in the game.
This thing is just too much fun.

1) Sound is amazing and the noise level won't spook everything in the map. It's great for farming $$.
2) It has low recoil and follow up shots are a breeze. You can also literally see as the pellets ♥♥♥♥ the animal and the blood effect in the skin!
3) It's DEADLY, I took a cape buffalo down with a well placed brain shot at short distance - 100% quick kill.

I know there is a lot of frustration with bugs, but we need to give credit where credit is due. Devs outdone themselves designing these weapons..

The air rifle, is it more powerful than 22 virant?

100% Quick Kill with the air rifle on a blacktail, single shot double lung at 33.5 yards

yeah, i've yet to get these new weapons and can barly wait, but i do also wish they'd give shotguns some more love, would love a new doublebarrel for the bigger game but also buckshot often plays rather poorly on anything bigger than a Roe and i still find it hard to get the integrity for buckshot correct on diffrent deer species, 12 gade looses integrity on fallow, yet i'd be lucky to get a vital on them with it, buckshot can rarly make a clean kill on deer or bigger, meaning i'm resticted to the slugs which often are to powerful for any smaller game.

What ammo do you guys use?

buckshot ive found requires kinda close range and damn good shot placement to get those good one shot drops...
used 20g buck on black and whitetail till i learned what i was doing.

If it works well in 50 meters or less, it would be so quiet like a bow and so deadly like the crossbow.

Hollow or rounded tip pellets?

The longest shot I have currently, with 100% quick kill is around 130m. I've also killed Cape Buffalo with brain shot from a close distance, and 100% quick kill. It's a class 2 weapon that hits really hard.

Rounded Tip pellets are more reliable, specially at distance. I am still doing more tests on hollow point, but couldn't find a situation where they would be better..

It's spook less animals than the crossbow, in my opinion. I was able to take a full group of Coyotes and since you have quick follow up shots, it makes it a money making machine.

Try using it on Fallow Deer. They are surprisingly tough and it's hard to get a double lung shot with rounded tips. I haven't had much success with frontal shots, either. Just not enough penetration. A single lung broadside shot with hollow points at around 40-45 meters can reliably give 100% QL. Angle shots with hollow points are hopeless on fallows, though.

Unfortunately, due to integrity stupidity, you cannot shoot fallows twice with the air gun and keep the integrity (while in case of whitetails you can).

Generally speaking, I like the air gun a lot. ATM it's my favourite weapon for roe deer hunting (works great even at around 100 m). I just wish this gun had an additional ammo type which would allow the player to use it on foxes. Hunting varmints with the air gun is very fun.

the fact it can hunt for small game down to the coyote but still work on the biggest game makes it a very useful weapon as it covers most game types, but is it too powerful for foxes? also i've found that 12 gade birdshot works shockly well on coyotes at close range it may not penatrate into the orgens only making it do fleshwounds but the shear amount of impacte trama over the coyote kills it almost on the spot so far given a quick kill of 100% even at over 20m and 100% intergirty its was most surprising for me it works far better than the 22 Varmint rifle ever could on foxes and coyotes :D

OP...totally agree. I just started using it today. I've had two red deer and a boar, close up, brain and two heart shots. It's becoming my favourite gun for the woods. Silent, deadly and very accurate. I've not used it over 40 meters yet...don't really need to in the woods.

Fallow deer with hollow point at 61 meters quick kill - silver

At the moment what I am seeing, is very quiet and deadly. It can be so useful or maybe more than a bow.

Thread only for Vasquez cyclone .45 is great and share photos and tests.

Low penetration, slow speed, terrible ballistic at the longer range.
I tried it a while and send it back.
Not for Yukon.
Maybe for Layton for hunting white- and black tail.

It's better at closer range, up to 100m for class 2 and 50m for class 3 and above.

Yeah I'm not a fan and suspect when the novelty wears off people will be putting this back in the gun rack, lol

The mosin is my fav gun, regardless.... so that'll be keeping its place in my inventory....
