If you're not taking advantage of need zone camping, and since they're both small and skittish, the easiest way to find them is often climbing the lookout posts and taking advantage of grass/shrubs not rendering at distance. Similarly, browsing the farm fields with the binoculars at distance for foxes idling around without the corn/hay impeding your sight.
If none of those are working, just run semi-open areas till one yips then hope its in a spot that is visible so you can shoot it while it starts running. They'll only run for about 5-10 seconds if you freeze when they yip, then they'll trot, so by the time your heart rate is normal it should be moving slower too and you can shoot it.
I found these red foxes walking close or around abounded houses or camping spots
But how can you hide from them? can't they spot you without the vegetation
no veg for them to hide behind either is easy to spot them 100-200M's out and I find on alof of the trees in this area if you get close enough to a tree it still offers you full concealment alot of the time.
They cover the entire map and appear from the shooting range to the logging site to red deer valley to the lake SW of the canyon.
The only spot I haven't seen a track is that dead end in the NW above red deer valley, I've only seen boars there. They can probably appear there too though since its random.
wow.... I been playing this a while and I never knew just standing next to an open tree would help with stealth, good tip
