Where are the wolves?
Pardon my ignorance, and I’m sure this has been asked before, but where are the wolves on Yukon? I know they’re supposed to be rare, but I didn’t realize they were going to be near impossible to find.

I’ve heard them howling, and sometimes it sounds close. But, I just assumed that they’re likely still far away even though I can hear them. For example, wildebeest herds can be heard from miles away.

So my question is, how do you even go about finding the wolves? Is it just sheer luck? I’ve been all over the map, and I haven’t even found a track. Not to mention they don’t give off calls like other animals. At least if they do, it hasn’t happened for me yet.

I have the callers for them, but I have no way of telling what direction they’re in or how far away they are.

It’s kind of frustrating, wolves are one of the main reasons I even bought this map. It’s one of the only two truly unique species on Yukon, so I’d like to SEE them at the very least.

Anywho, if anyone has any hotspots or tips, they’d be much appreciated. I’ve had no problem finding any of the other animals so far.

Just run their general direction and they'll flee then double back to try and kill you. You'll only be able to get three kills then they will flee again.

Top left of the map in the burnt forest. Travel south from the lodge that is more like a container than a log cabin. If you get in your ATV, they'll even chase you ... but then you'll likely get killed soooo

Ahhh, thank you, I’ll try that. Ha, I’m alright with that, I’ve already had a few grizzlies try to tear me to bits.

I’m not good with figuring out where they’re coming from, but I’ll try that. Thanks for the help.

Western side of map, most places are reasonable to find them. Use binos and you may see a pack...otherwise you're likely to see them running past or moving in to attack. They are good for coin.

just run your quad in the western regions of the map...
and they find you : )
No quad DLC... meh... they'll get you on foot too.
Traveling to and opening up the western towers got me attacked a coupla times.
When ya do the missions and go to the Teekan Forest to open that outpost...
Or even enroute to the mining camp...
You'll likely see some... But I'll bet they see you first ! Lol

Dressing in a red hood and carrying a picnic basket helps....although the red quad does seem to have a better wolf attracting quality than the other quads I think.
