BTW "no more tracks" includes the small blood splatters, so what exactly are you seeing?
The bug i've seen is you shoot an animal, get the huge blood splatter there saying Vital hit, then you get no tracks at all, no other blood drip splatters, no footprints, nothing. It's like your vital hit disintegrated the animal on the spot, even though you watched it run off and know right where it went.
The other one is you get the vital hit, you get blood drop splatters saying medium blood loss or whatever, you get tracks, then the tracks/splatters just stop after following them for X amount of tracks or distance.
Never seen it where the bleed rate changes in the tracks, might be new?
I don't think this is working as intended, when this occurs. There should obviously be "tracking" tracks between. I was only able to follow it because of squished grass (which isn't always reliable either, unfortunately).
That's a hell of a knockback from a .243 poly :)
Ah, yes, there are two, three or maybe even four problems here I guess.
Sometimes animals fly away.
Sometimes in hilly terrain they make "large jumps".
Sometimes when the tracks are getting too numerous, the software just suppresses a trail for a couple of hundred meters.
And allegedly there have been reported cases of alien abduction - seems a hint for the next hunting reserve.
I had a track with a 120 m gap in it. Took me ages to find...
When you get bugs compounding on bugs, then the game does need serious bugfixing.
If you shoot and wound an animal in a need zone, it will initially run off then return to the same need zone within a few minutes.
So chasing and tracking is almost pointless - it actually frightens the animal off as it returns.
Great game design huh.
I have no issue with the loss of trail, whether it is blood trail or track or both, but at the moment a few people are getting glitches that make the mechanic, if it is a mechanic, frustrating. It's one of those things that is a toss up whether it is bug or feature at the moment.
Game aside, it's generating a bit of grief among us here, which we could do without.
I hear ya. It wasn't clear from the OP if he is hunting in Zones or not hence my response.
(FWIW I would suggest the majority of players hunt at need zones and this silly boomerang syndrome of animals always returning to the same spot after a few minutes of being frightened off or wounded takes a lot of skill and purpose out of the game.)
