Elk Trophy Terminology?
I was always curious about elk terminology. Any elk trophy hunters here that could explain Spikes, Rag-horns, Royals, Imperials, and Monarchs?

Spike elk is any elk having at least one antler without branching above the ears. I have always refered to a raghorn as a young bull sporting his first set of branch antlers following having spikes. If a bull has six tines, it is called a Royal; seven, an Imperial; eight, a Monarch.

What if an elk has 6 on one side and 7 or 8 on the other?

6x7 ?
6x8 ?
7x8 ?

Which would be royal, imperial, and monarch?
