I agree with Beschuetzer, the less animals, the better. That's why Hirsch is still my favorite map. This one hasn't taken that title yet. ;-) I have seen and taken a TON of animals on this map though.
There has always been this divide between the player base. I also feel like Layton is a Arcade style shooter. I think more players tend to like higher animal populations, but a smaller subset likes fewer animals.
Until the Devs put variables into the population files that are driven by selectable drop downs on the options page there will probably be this conflict forever.
I like difficultry... So, for example, I'd like to see it take 20 kills to get your consecutive harvest to 100%, and not just the 3 it is now or the 5 it used to be, but that's WAY to HARDCORE for the normal run of the mill player. I'm a simmer though, so that's my cup of tea.
Agreed.
I know we'd get to hear the whiney "COPY AND PASTE" WAHHH sound that can be heard from miles away, but I'd also like to see some native deer species like white tail, black tail, and / or Mule deer on this map. I think those are all in that area, but I could be mistaken on some of those specific species.

Having to hunt for animals is fine, but the animals have to actually exist. No animals, no calls, no tracks -> no hunting, no matter how good you are.
Exactly what i am saying.
Large areas of this map are deserted and for no reason other than there is a spawn issue like there was on Parque.
Though others are saying they are having no problems finding animals to hunt.
then go play layton! or africa. im glad that the maps are different, nobody crys about Hirschfelden this is also an more realistic feeling map with not arcade shooting feeling.
but could be that other places are not that filled.
wetlands and surrounding area have a lot of bizon. the forest in the direction of the second lookout point quest has caribu.
Other areas of the map I'm falling over stuff at the right time of day. As I said on earlier, travelling tracks on the quad is a real dodgem car trip from animals jumping out in front of me.
