Wolves Howling
First the wolves and the sound are amazing.

That said is it just me or are the wolves talking too much? Starting to sound like a dog pound rather then the woods as you can hear them howling I don't know just seems like too much.

Might they have overdone the howling some???

I don't know if you could follow the audio to the wolves and think having just wolves howling all the time will get boring pretty quick. Sound amazing just don't want to hear them all the time.
At least I know it's not just me thinking this.

No mate as much as I love the wolves they are all I hear 80% of the time. I think it would add to the fear if you only heard them now and again. Walking through the forest and hearing them close would scare me anyway :) I'd say maybe hear them 50% of what we do now and it would be better but just my opinion.
I agree personally right now it sort of sounds like a dog sledders kennel HA HA Hey it is Alaska so who knows

Remember geese honks? Should be less frequent and more random. Anyone notice the howls sound quite strange also? Not the wolf howl I expected to hear. And yes I know the difference between a coyote yelp and a wolf howl. 😉

Glad to know I am not the only one who was wondering if the wolf howl was too saturated among the other ambient sounds.

If you listen closely, the wolves sound like an ambulance :D:

not even close. Wolves are actually quite quiet.

They don't howl at the moon (that's werewolves, not real wolves).
They'll howl anytime during the day to communicate with their pack, not just at night.

Typically they'll howl at dawn and dusk, when they're most active, they'll howl to find their pack if they get separated, or they'll will howl to gather the pack, like to hunt, or to let trespassing wolves know they're in their territory.

Yes they are way, way too vocal. Wolves, in real life, can/do howl at any time of the day, however, more frequently during sunrise/sunset and at night - definitely not all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time like here and especially less during the day.

Then again, wolves are also portrayed like ravenous beasts that just wait to find an opportunity to attack you, because that's totally how wolves roll...

Nope, I don't think so. I hear them now and then, but not all the time and it's not too loud either. I hope they won't decrease it now...

for me it's almost constant especially in certain parts of the map but even in other areas it just seems more like a snowdog kennel then normal wildlife behavior even now just hearing them again as games running in background.

And I am not saying remove the sound as even I like it just the amount sounds a tad much is all at least for some of us maybe there is a bug or maybe a bit over done not sure

It didn't take long to realize that the howling is going to get old really quickly. They've definitely overdone it.

Hearing them from dusk to dawn, and only occasionally during the day, seems a bit more realistic.
yeah my last response was 12 minutes ago and this howler now he's not even growing tired neither are his friends. Pretty much 12 minutes straight with very brief pauses I guess to take a breath for the next howl.

The strange part too is the sound is not trackable is just background it has nothing to do with the animal like other animals where you can track the sound.

actually more like a thousand firetrucks in my city.
and they attack quite often. I've been killed lots in this game.
plus I cannot tell the direction of their howling ? seems everywhere and overwhelming.

No mate she has 4 dogs but that thing howls at 3AM some nights :steamsad: She never walk's them tho so not there fault just her's IMO. I almost put the door through a few weeks back and she does seem a little better now.
it's howling cause it's not happy. my guess is she has big dogs like the husky and a small area for them to run. Husky's need lots of room to exercise, or walked morning and night. I grew up with a husky/malamute sled team living next door, one of hte malamutes was half wolf. I had to go feed and water them if the owners were gone. I had no problems with any of them but the half wolf dog. He did not like anyone but his owner in the pen. He wasn't aggressive, he would just sit and stare you down, and he had the most beautiful green eyes.

Call animal control next time. 3 calls on an animal here and they take it away. that might be best for that dog.
