Which is the best bow?
I´ve just bought this game and I think I am going to play this game without fire weapons.

I love listening to the sound of the wind, the birds, the leaves of the trees and that's why I put the volume very loud on my speakers. If I shoot a rifle, the sound is very unpleasant to me.

So I will use bows, but, which is better?

I have no idea which I should choose, is it the same?

Xbow is easiest to use and has the least of the drawbacks of bows.

Otherwise I'd say the highest draw compound, 80lbs isnt it? I didn't use the recurve much though.

Also if you have not make sure to check the DLC list as there are several freebies in there including this bow which is a good beginner bow until you can unlock the other bows and items!

Well guess it isn't going to retrieve the info for the bow just look at the DLC list and near bottom is the bearclaw lite compound bow

Try them all out on the archery range in PF, then use the one you find easiest to handle and shoot the best with.

Haven't tried the one that requires bow mastery to purchase yet, but the original pair of bows that are unlocked sure are good at hunting deer.
Feels much easier to get quick kill rating with bow than with rifle for me. Maybe the much higher penetration of the arrows versus rifle ammo makes it a easier to score quick kills with rookie aiming.

Personally, the Hawk Edge CB-70.

Lower on the linked wiki page you can find a graph comparing the various attributes of the available bows, including the crossbow.

I found the crossbow to be the most accurate, as the optics allow me to place well my shots, if I estimate the distance correctly, hehe. You can also shoot effectively from a prone position, where with a bow you have to crouch or stand up if you want to aim. Unlike the way it is for a bow when you draw the arrow, there's no fatigue setting in when you have it in "aim mode". It might be a bit louder though, but I think that in practice the difference is negligible. By being a DLC you get to use it and its arrows right away, so it's an added bonus compared to other "missile launchers".

Despite all that good stuff of the crossbow, I still prefer the CB-70 though, as I find it easier to use than a crossbow and a nice challenge. My main complaint are 300 gr arrows, where I prefer the crossbow, as its 300 gr bolts appear to have a tiny bit better penetration.
If you're strapped for weight the 0.5 weight save of the Razorback Lite CB-60 might work for you too.

Whatever you choose, except the recurve, you'll be able to hunt anything from rabbits to Moose with a single weapon, as long as you have the right arrows or bolts with you. I suggest you try them at the bow firing range in Parque Fernando (if you have the map DLC), else try the gun range in Hirschfelden, to get a feeling for range and arrow/bolt trajectory. I find that range estimation is crucial with bows, so try and learn to judge distance well. Oh and don't forget to take into account the wind, else it can push your arrow off course. Anyway, I suggest you try them out and see what works best for you. I wish you happy and relaxing hunting.
