How to avoid a Lion Attack
When they introduced the lion in Vurhonga, they mentioned in the live stream that there was a way to avoid lion attacks.

And just recently Phil asked in reddit:

anyone actually figured out what to do when the lion enters "confrontation" mode?
https://www.reddit.com/r/theHunter/comments/brs7or/say_cheese/eoir8lw/?context=3

So I'm curious, has anyone found a way to stop a lion in it's track when he's about to attack?

I'm guessing it might be something like standing up and whistle. Or maybe moving backwards slowly.

Any lion whisperer out there?

I'd suggest backing off...but a round into the face would probably be more certain. Where there's one, there may be another...I don't trust them one bit.

I see now why no one has discovered that yet. Trigger happy, the lot of you :steammocking:

I do recall one of the devs saying something about them generally minding their own business if they see you are aware of them and avoid them. I can't remember where I saw it though.

When it comes to lions and buffalo, only my Hawkedge and .454 make me feel safe. I mentioned it in another thread, but I've only been attacked by lions a handful of times and it's almost always exclusively while I'm trying to sneak up on another animal without realizing I practically walked right on top of the lion's territory. So, yeah, I'm certainly of the opinion that they'll leave you alone if you mind your business and ignore them. Hearing them bolt past you in a full sprint is terrifying...

I cannot imagine, that there is something, that stopps an attacking lion.
Perhaps it is not programmed.
Either you kill it, or it kills you...

Hehe, but you could try to use the Moose Caller, but I fear, that this too may not rescue you in those situations. :steamsad:

I'm not sure ether when it comes to lions any noise i make seems to attract them even when back away makes them follow on your position its as if they are actualy hunting me, one the other hand at least their easy to lure.

Short of killing it there is no way to stop a lion once it's coming for you.

Running will drive most of them away before they opt to attack. Of course it will also drive many of the other animals away as well. Those the lion hasn't already driven away that is.

I tracked one through the bush a few nights back, and something made me think to move out of the thick stuff she was leading me through and move out to the side...and I spotted her just on the other side of a real thick patch. She'd turned around and was waiting for me. If I'd kept on track I would have pretty much walked onto her.

Great behaviour programming that.

They are probably not programmed to go in the water, or something alike.
