Nope, you can safely use your flashlight.
Some folks on here say that it doesn't. I can't tell if it's my scent , sight , or noise that causes animals to spook at night.

That's what I thought.
That is why I do not hunt at night - it is not interesting.
Now that night vision gadgets have come up, they could change that ...

Walk through the scrub, animals scatter in a flash. Set up a saturday night live disco lighting system in your tent, not a worry.

Once a coyote was literally running me over while I used the flashlight. He acted as if I wasn't there at al, I was so surprised I didn't even try to shoot him.

and the light is not bright enough to be useful for night vision.
I have to leave my headlamp off in order to see / hunt at night.
But one cannot harvest an animal in the dark because the tracks will not show.

So I will always change to time to daylight and rarely hunt in the dark.
And yet... the daylight time disappears rather quickly.
Quite obviously a game control forcing one to hunt at night.
Or pony up the game coin to avoid that.

F this night hunting BS.

I've been doing a bit at night after lions, but haven't had any luck yet. I gave up on night stalking buffalo, crawling through scrub is bad enough in daylight, in the dark it's a nightmare.

11 hours of night 13 hours of day, yep they're forcing us to hunt at night...

250 is not exactly a fortune if you want to avoid hunting at night and would rather sleep in the hut, you get three times as much from single kill usually.

Geez Gunny, dont talk em into ruining my night hunting,,i get most of my best trophy red deer at night. It seems to be when the bachelor herds come out and I dont have to deal with the FPS drops of the doe herds.

For me the flashlight is bright enough for night hunting, actually I use the light in combination with the rangefinder more often than the (DLC) Genzero Nightvision Binoculars. I like both night and day hunting the same.

I like (or at least don't mind) night hunting. A lot of the animals are more more active then.
