Is a relaxing game?
I am going through a difficult time in my life and I would like to distract my mind with something calm and relaxing like reading, walking and hearing something like what sounds here:

I would like very much to find a relaxing and peaceful game.

The last thing I need right now is a game like "Killing floor" or some "Call of duty".

Is this a calm and relaxing game?

Thanks in advance, guys

The game itself is very relaxing. It's the bugs I constantly run into that drive me up the wall. Recently came back to the game, but already feel like quitting again after playing for a month or so.

If thats what you are looking for, I strongly suggest a game here on Steam called ABZU. :-)

The short answer is yes. It is a relaxing game. Very chill, no time limits, no pvp, no quests that you have to get done as they are all optional. you can walk around and take in the sights and sounds, or you can take the more traditional approach and do some hunting while you're at it. And with all the maps, you have a variety of sights and sounds to experience.

As for something like your video, I would suggest Layton Lakes or Hirschfelden. Both are visually stunning with plenty of chirping birds.

Be aware it is about hunting animals.

You can wander around enjoying the serenity, but on some maps that could result in becoming lion food or a buffalo doormat.

It's relaxing, just don't hunt moose with the .243. One poorly placed shot and you're wandering forever tracking an animal. lol

It’s all in what you make it. Can it be relaxing, short answer yes
Best way to know if watch a video of the game being played this just happens to be the announcement for the new Alaska/Yukon make being released soon but will give you an idea of what the games like

If the link does not take you to the right start point just skip the first 9 minutes and 30 seconds and shortly after they reveal the map and walk out of the cabin to the world outside

COTW is my favourite game for chillout. The most frustrating thing you will face is a poor shot and when you think about it, that's not really very important. Nobody is rushing you in this game. The maps are all beautiful and so screenshot-worthy that you could easily turn it into an immersive tourist simulator. It can be competitive if you want to boast about your trophies, but it's completely optional.

Today I returned to Medved Taiga. When I was standing on a hill overlooking a vast forest and listening to the wind, I almost expected to feel it on my face. There was something enchanting about the scene. A raw beauty of nature. COTW's map-markers really deserve credit for their work, as do the sound engineers.

Hmm, I wouldn't recommend it for that. It can be relaxing, but if you are going through a tough period you'll probably get worn out by whatever is burdening you. I would suggest avoiding computer games and trying meditation, focusing on breathing exercises. Instead of playing a game for an hour, meditate for that time and find meaning in your life. Also, try find some hobby where you work with your hands, like drawing, painting, carving wood, or something. It'll help you calm down, refocus and in turn it helps healing body and mind. I've had very hard challenges in my life and no game ever relaxed me enough, only meditation and self discovery helped me. Scientific research backs me up on this too. Hope this helps. Take care and best of luck.

Well, very calm and relaxing. And nerve wrecking if you have just missed that diamond bastard after stalking and luring it for a couple of hours. But you can always release your anger and clear your frustrations by gorely over-killing some annoying rabbit with a slug or two. (But you do not have to. You can also take a nice picture of it instead :-) )

You might want to check out a game called Eastshade, it's available here on steam. It's a very beautiful and relaxing walking simulator. It has great atmosphere and music.

This game is my escape valve since it´s release. Life is no Disneyland and it has been helping me relieve my stress tremendously. I play it almost every day at night, kinda like taking a medicine hehe.

p.s. Sometimes I don´t even bother hunting, I just go for a hike or quad ride as the graphics and overall atmosphere are simply stunning.

I missed that diamond elk bastard last night when his friend was in front of his spotted silhouette, and I ended up with a pair of knobby sticks instead of a pair of candleabras. My language after that wasn't too relaxing or zen.

@OP: Yes, very relaxing, and as you can see, a very good community here. Hope you join us...
