Coyote's In Layton Lakes
I've just jumped reserved after getting frustrated with a Vualez quest of having to shoot 2 coyote's in the heart and rarely seeing, or being able to call in coyotes to the area. While hunting in the Savanna I've noticed that the jackals seem to roam in a group of 4-5 while in Layton Lakes the coyotes seem to not be in a pack at all even though the quests always say they roam in a group. Can this be fixed in some way? Really frustrating after having spent weeks on the same coyote quest and getting tired of the sound of the caller, lol.

I found the coyotes really sneaky. I've even had them come right up close to the hide and stare at me through the crack of the open door. Mostly they seem to be more active at night. I agree that you'll have to use the caller a good few times but they will come, if you've got yourself a good place. Roaming at night is a pain so I'd recommend setting up in your chosen hide (perhaps with a tent for time manipulation) and take it from there.

Coyotes do travel in groups. I've come across groups of 2-5 often enough. Though I do see singles a lot too. Coyotes are cautious though, it takes some time to get them to come in and I find they tend to circle around.

First tip: if you have played a long time on the map, reset the map/s. As time passes, less animal and less level come out. Go to you documents\Avalanche Studios\COTW\Saves\xxxxxxx\animal_population_x. Each animal_population is one reserve. Delete all or 1 that is layton(edit: 0 is Hirschfelden and 1 is layton if I dont remember bad)

Second tip: find the areas where the eat or sleep and look for them at that time using the tent as tp or put the hours you need.

Use this excel. He has the weapons and in the tabs the hours.

The rest is luck and patience.

Holy crap! I'll give it a try. Thanks!

I edit the post. Change el number del animal_population but the best is reset all(delete all animal_population files).

Other tool: maps. This is only to know the areas where to hunt a specific animal, but not the exact point. Useful for hunting quest in large areas.

Your observation might be correct, there appears to be more solitary coyotes than groups on Layton Lake.
