I will not purchase this... even tho' I often find myself hunting at night.
But I prefer not to. And it is illegal in the U.S. for most animals that I've hunted.

Sure their a few states that allow it... But they shouldn't IMHO.
Why ? because one cannot see where their bullet goes and accidents can happen.

I'm not referring to this game but RL hunting.
its totally illegal in france too. not only because of accident, but because peoples can kill every animals they want (including female and small ones/babies) as much as they want without risk to be identified by a possible ranger/police/gendarme.

its simply considered as "braconnage" (poaching) here. i rarely hunt at night in the game because of that. only from time totime when i m too far from a camp and a nice animals appear in front of me... even tho, the flashlight is broken on PS4 (i play on PS4)... soo it doesnt help anyway

So the PS4 players get a police chopper DLC and not the PC players! that's definitely a strange bug, hope it gets fixed soon. I agree with you about night hunting, not because it's illegal but cause it's far too easy to get close to the animals and takes away from the challenge. I like to play as realistic as I can but I also carry 4 weapons, yes I'm very strong :steamhappy:

yall understand that night vision bino's are not illegal right ;)

scopes and goggles are.
but there is no problem with bino's. otherwise night vision camera's would be illegal too. and they aren't. nowhere.

They are in every state (U.S) I've ever hunted in. (granted I didn't hunt them all)
Having possession of any night vision device when hunting results in a fine or confiscation or both.

Obviously this has nothing to do with sight seeing and is specific to hunting.

unless they give us night scopes, these things will be useless, we will see. i am sure it will be fun.
What has night vision being illegal in some countries have to do with night vision not being illegal in other countries around the world? Also what relevance do local and state laws in your country have to do with the game? This game caters to an international audience, so the developers are exploring ways of getting different kinds of hunting that appeal to different kinds of hunters. So fair enough that they add, well anything really. Also its legal to hunt at night with NV scopes and NVG where I live, but that is irrelevant anyway. At least they are trying to figure out how to add more variety to their game. Although bug fixes would be appreciated. Peace Out.:chug:

they should add silencer too... and land mines, and rocket launcher and machine guns... a air strike can be fun too on animals group like thoses horde in africa.

its not because its a game that mean they can add tings that is illegal in real.

its just that they claim that their game is the most "realist" hunting simlation game around.

wich is clearly not with this in them to be honest.

not like i care anyway, i m not hunting at night due to flashlight bugs and easy way to catch animals while invisible.

I still want Elephant...but I can wait.....I want bear bait and hog bait setups.....also the option to plant (Taste enhancing)....and DEER approved Clover....

And is hunting with Tactical Slingshot DLC (this would let me shoot all bird/rabbit).

Also as long as you are not "flashlighting" or shooting sleeping animals....I don't see how (in a game)...vision enhancing gear is a big deal.......otherwise with that mindset should we get rid of binocs and scopes...(ffs don't).

My Wallet is Ready(sm)....
will elephant would be allowed or considered as poaching ? as they use the rhino to demonstrate that in africa story...

i m pretty sure elephant wont come in the game at all.

I'll wait to see the actual DLC before I form my opinion. I don't really like hunting at night, not because it is illegal in some places but because it is harder to see for me. I normally either skip night or use that time to unlock the maps. I still do hunt if I stumble across something. I honestly don't understand some people objection to certain things in the game, like night hunting. It is illegal where they live so they complain about it being in the game. Ok, it is also illegal to hunt does/females or to take more than one buck/male in a season depending on where you are. It is also illegal to shot across roads or to shot within a certain distance of a building.
macadamstreet Sep 8, 2019 @ 3:55am
night vision is available in "hunting simulator" (i play both because hunting simulator have some nice animals not present in CotW, like turkey, goats and else... and its fun but not that easy in fact. specially in snow zone. guess its gonna be a nice challenge in Medved :D
i think the result gonna be pretty similar.
but like mentionned before, i hope we can actually ue them definitly , in combinaison with binocular and scope, overwise its gonna be pretty useless as marking an animal fade quickly when you switch to weapons. (in hunting simulator, we can ue Nv continuously with binocular and scope, hope they do same here)

How m,any American players shoot ducks and geese with a .22 in the game...There is a federal law in the USA against it.

heh ! i though it was also illegal to kill duck and else while they rest on lake, and only shoot when they fly, that's why you scare them before :P

The game allows us to fast travel, skip time, carry 4-5 weapons, kill as many animals as we want, die and just start again at a outpost yet people are complaining about shooting animals at night because its not realistic/legal :steamfacepalm: Not exited about night hunting but will wait to see what the pack offers before deciding if its something that will add to gameplay.

Players can set their own rules for how they want to hunt ,it makes no difference to other players.
Happy Hunting

Don't be silly; the point I was trying to make, is that what is legal and what is not changes depending on what country and even what state/province one is in. There are some countries where it is legal to hunt with a silencer; Scotland and New Zealand come to mind (although that might have changed recently). It is also legal to hunt Elephants and Rhino in some African countries (Mozambique, Zimbabwe and South Africa to name a few). If you have the money, it costs $30,000 to hunt 1 elephant in Zimbabwe right now (what a bargain!). Again, to reinforce my original point, it is irrelevant what the hunting laws are in Your country or anyone elses as the game devs will pick and choose, as they have already done so. And i am in agreement with you as far as hunting at night kinda sucks.

I already have a thought about how to have fun with the NV, normally I play with realisim in mind but going to arm myself with just a handgun and try to make it out of Wolf country at night. Should make for some intense gameplay. :steamhappy:
