Question about pc and Xbox one version
So if I got this game on the Xbox one would I be able to play it on my laptop somehow? Like threw my Microsoft account? And if not which is better Xbox one or the pc version??

No, the game does not offer Play Anywhere support.

I don't have or play the console version so I can't really give an opinion on which is better. Just be aware that the console version is behind the PC version in terms of content and updates. For example, the latest map DLC Medved-Taiga is only available on the PC version.

Edited to correct a mistake: I accidentally put Cross-Play when I meant Play Anywhere. :steammocking:

Well would it run smoothly on my laptop though? It’s only a i5 gen 3 processor with built in graphics

Most likely not.

The minimum required specs are:

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: 64bit OS - Windows 7
Processor: Intel i3-4170
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 660 / ATI HD7870 - 1GB VRAM
Storage: 20 GB available space

So would it probably just be best to get the Xbox version then? And how far behind is Xbox? Besides the map

Well if you want to play, I think that's your only choice. I want to say the console version is 3-4 patches behind but I'm not 100% sure. Sorry

It says the last Xbox update was 1.3 which was for multiplayer stuff and Xbox one x support, I would love to have it on my laptop :/ but stuff like that with such high graphics is so sketchy because some games work well with lower settings while other games I’ve got where laggy and annoying

Yeah, this game is pretty demanding and most average and even some gaming laptops would struggle to run it.

Good luck with your Decision. :steamhappy:

Yeah, a laptop will struggle with the graphics. Desktop-PC AND a good vid card are needed to get the most out of it, I fear. For everything else it'll be a compromise between detail settings and fps. I suspect consoles would be in the same place as your laptop. Though the game still looks good on lower settings. Just not as awesome as on higher ones, obviously.... ;)

Also, the min specs listed above will not run the game on full detail and have good fps, as they are the minimum requirements. It'll be one or t'other. I am thinking that GTX970-ish equivalent (or preferably better) is needed for both. But others may well be better informed and would welcome their confirmations or otherwise....

Everyone is talking without researching. YES. If you own it on Xbox, just get the Xbox App on a Windows 10 device. You will be able to stream all Xbox One games directly to your PC as long as they are on the same network. Also, the Xbox One X is just as powerful as a high end PC. Though how good each game runs depends on how well it was optimized for the console. Personally, the Xbox One X runs this game better then my PC.

Streaming from one device to another without introducing input lag or dropped frames, or some other issue and has never worked well in my experience. They all seem to suffer from something and is the reason I didn't suggest it. I've yet to use the Xbox to PC streaming service but I have my doubts that it always works flawlessly and is as easy as just playing on the main device.

Also, what does the Xbox One X have to do with the question the OP is asking? They mentioned they have an Xbox One, not a One X.

Pretty defensive aren’t we? lol

You talk about input lag etc yet admit to never having tried the feature. I like many use it flawlessly.

Also, what does cross play have to do with the question the OP is asking? They asked if they could play the game on their laptop if they owned the Xbox One version.

Not defensive at all. I was just curious what the Xbox One X had to do with anything.

I didn't say it was a terrible service and that the service doesn't work at all. I said I have my doubts and after a quick Google search, it seems that indeed, lots of people have had issues using it. I didn't want to suggest using something that had a good chance of providing a less than stellar experience.

Your right, cross-play does not answer the question and is not relevant. I meant to say Play Anywhere. I'll edit my post. My mistake.:steammocking:

True, he didn’t mention the xbox One X, but when people ask others what they play on, they usually say Xbox, One, PS4, or PC. Often times they don’t go into the model type most of the time. He just said Xbox One and a laptop, so he didn’t go into his PC specs either but it didn’t prevent a couple of you mentioning specs either. Also want the first to mention the OneX but thanks for choosing to single me out lol

Sure, not everyone includes the exact model but I figure if they are asking which platform they should get the game on and say about their laptop "It’s only a i5 gen 3 processor with built in graphics" They understand the laptop is not great and would also understand if they had an Xbox One X that the decision would be easy and that the game would play much smoother and be a better experience on the One X.

Briflexia mentioned specs in their second post " It’s only a i5 gen 3 processor with built in graphics"

That's why I posted the minimum required specs.

I'm not singling you out. They mentioned the Xbox One X because it was in the patch notes.

You mentioned it for... I don't know, that's why I asked.

I just wanted them to be aware that using the streaming service might not give the best experience. Not sure why you are taking it as some kind of attack on you.

The “single me out” comment wasn’t serious. Hence the “lol” that followed.
