rabbit Cull ( gone mad). section of the map.
Was playing in the Vurhonga Savanna Reserve.. found a section of the map where no matter how you were positioned( crouched, laid flat, standing etc.... ) you could call the rabbits to come to you...( with the jack rabbit caller.) 4+ rabbits at a time. Was shooting 2 rabbit per call).. Stopped when i had had enough. Biggest cull I have ever seen without too much effort.. Has to be a glitch. they just kept coming as you called them.

I would be curious to know what you use as a rabbit caller ? I have all the callers but I have never heard of rabbits callers.
On which coordianates did you find these crazy rabbits ?

Jusr rebooted the game to get some details... location as good as i could get it...
KuNaveland 10580.490 -8361765 between the 2 cross roads is where i was operating..
Predator " jack rabbit caller" is what i was using to lure them in.
So yes not one for rabbits.. but has the desired affect.

Normally there are no known callers in the game for rabbits. It must be a bug.

Dunno if rabbits are coming to caller, cuz of extra skill, or not, but maybe game AI just has them returning to their feeding because natural animal sounds make them think it's safe again.

i think that might be it. I've never tried calling rabbits. just lie still for a minute or 3 and they return, then pop another 1 or 2 and repeat until they're all dead, move to the next rabbit group. Easy way to level up your weapon or get xp/money when you're lower level.

You sure you weren't in a need zone? There's a lot of them. Pretty easy to farm even without.

People also are not being careful when tagging tracks, and end up unlocking bunny zones all over their maps. Then they wonder why the other animal populations drop, or why they are walking in slow motion...I know I keep harping about this but WOW. I like bunny hunting and have certain places where I go that don't impose on other animal hunting areas, and you really don't have to unlock need zones rabbits, they are spawning in lots of places naturally. Before u click on that feeding or drinking track, or any track, look to see what it is first, and then decide if you want to check it or risk unlocking a new spawn need zone there where u might want to be hunting something else. All my reserves have certain areas where I hunt specific species, and the zones in those areas reflect this. I will not carelessly click on tracks everywhere I go and have unnecessary or unwanted zones in those areas. Another thing to keep in mind is that population cap,,,when u know there can only be a certain number on your map do u really think it wise to have to share that with large numbers of species you don't hunt, and if you want more of your preferred animals to be spawning in your hunting areas, then don't be unlocking zones all across your map so that population cap gets thinned out and unavailable in your unlocked zones within your own field of play.

I doubt this is in play. If an animal doesn't have a caller specifically assigned to it, it's unlikely to be coded to respond to any call. The rabbits are almost everywhere and simply being still will appear to bring them in.

See this is example of new player not knowing, there is a specific skill which enables chance that your call could attract a different species,,

Correct. As per the answer in the OP.

But you might want to read again what I said.

If an animal does not have a caller assigned to it (as are rabbits), it is unlikely to be coded to respond to *any* caller - even with the skill.

Your slapdown of new guys might be completely inappropriate.

I have a little valley in Vurhonga, more of a 'glade' really, that is choc-a-bloc full of rabbits. I hadn't selected any tracks or feed zones, but from the nearby tower I counted at least five need zones for them in that one patch. I don't know why, but they certainly clumped there. Pointless hunting anything else through there, as when one rabbit gets startled, it sets off a chain reaction. If you don't startle any, you can't really hear anything other than hares scampering through the kunai grass.
