And pfft, I sat and shot like 30+ mallards in one sitting and was miffed to see that there isn't an achievement for 50 of those. Lotta dead ducks for nothin'.
I've been wondering about the night vision. I may end up getting that DLC.
Hirsh is far from dead once you put some time into it. What makes Hirsh seem dead at first is that the need zones are all spread out (unlike all of the other maps where need zones tend ti be clustered).... but once you accumulate enough of those the action really picks up. I used to hate Hirsh too but it's grown on me and I really enjoy it these days. One good thing about the animal distribution on Hirsh is that you find flurries of animals everywhere on the map.... even though the herd sizes are smaller... while the other maps tend to have at least a couple large dead zones but larger herd sizes.
Many of Medved's hot spots are actually on frozen lakes and in clearings so spotting animals isn't an issue there. That being said it feels like the cheapest, most neglected map in the game (which it is) so I rarely go there. You really shouldn't be having issues spotting large herds of animals and finding need zones there, though.
ps. just got the sprinkbok city achievement unlock - must be for 50 of them.
