I got the pack because the sight for the bow is awesome. You aim the red dot at what you want to shoot an arrow at, you press R and then a green dot shows up and THAT one is what you use to aim and shoot. It takes the mystery out of compensating for arrow drop because the sight does it for you. The bow and sight alone make the pack worth it.
You also get access to tracer arrows which light up and blink at night (daytime as well, just not as visible), and makes night-time hunting more fun.
You don't have to bow hunt. The pack also comes with a NV rifle scope (still no on/off button I believe), but I personally don't regret the purchase at all.
There is a non-NV binocular/rangefinder combo in the base game. I keep both on me.
They need to add a higher magnification NV scope since the only one added is only 1x-4x magnification.
