Tracks disappear
So I shot a Moose, a deadly shot. I walked up and scanned the blood and put a manual waypoint there to start the tracking laer since I was already chasing another wounded...
When I later returned there were no blood or tracks left. In game time had passed maybe 1.5h. Still daytime.

The mobile device marked the location (the pig with a crosshair symbol) also but alas..

This a common issue?

Quite common for me - I bet you fast traveled and came back. That always seems to wipe out tracks. But I've also had issues with animals not leaving tracks at all (to begin with).

It seems to happen a lot in areas where there are already other tracks.

Just more BS. Be no time at all before people start complaining they have no money and are out of ammo and cant play.

I litterlally just logged off in a field of Elk blood spent 36 rounds counted at least 20 vital hits, tons of other blood splats.. countless (1000s) of overlapping criscrossing track that even Einstein couldnt figure out.. Multiple Vital hits on same animals with Shotgun (buckshot) both barrles [each time] and in some cases Both Hits were Vitals...all close range 5-30 yards with the DOT scope... Only one died right off... the others just keept running off and comming back... running off and comming back, running off and comming back, or just ran off, and started walking around droppping blood everywhere....

And yeah I was close.. got ran over twice.. When they came back Id shoot them again [both barrels] and in some cases again get two more vital hits...

All of which was just making more and more tracks and more and more blood.. I F'ing had to do a search out to 100yards, 200yards, 300yards 400yards 500yards... round and round and round...found 2 out of 8. 2 hours of my life wasted... just looking for things I had shot... All with Vital hits. Meanwhile more animals are comming in making even more tracks that I didnt bother shooting at.... My Huntersmate was just a blob of dots.. the thing was totally usless.. Hell, I wish some of my tracks had disappeard, but it seems like I got every damn track and them some....

We need to just start demaning they give us access to pervious versions of the game... that worked... cause this stuff doesnt..

I sware Im going to run out of money and ammo.... at this rate. Can we at least get a sharp Spoon to stab the animals with? Do I dare, buy another weapon.. Id be out of money if it didnt work.... What then.. we have to start over?

Most the animals I am shooting now are just running off, and I mean OFF.. like 300-600 yards with vital his... sometimes multiple vital hits. Maybe you should change Vital Hit... to Paper Cut. A Vital Hit seems to be nothing more than a Flesh Wound now... they are going about the same distance, and moving around as much as if a Vital Hit is now a Flesh Wound..

And they are all skittish too now if you noticed... They see you at 200 yards while your stalking.... wont come any closer than 25-30 half the time... We are moving around now noisy as a bull in china shop.. Its like the trees and bushes are jumping out and grabbing you... and the animals are seeing us further away then ever.. Were having to crawl the whole map to get close enought to shoot... Its like some idiot is testing this stuff on LOW GRAPHICS SETTIGNS. Half the time you cannot see 100 yards on ULTRA, let alone 200 and 300.... goofball.

Its not hard to tell that someone is testing this game and these edits with a long range rifle and powerful scope on low graphic settings..

The games getting worse by the day.... Wonder what BS will get downloaded into the game today..... Flying Bears maybe, or you go to get on the ATV and it just explodes and kills you. Getting killed by those baby coyotes would be funny...but at this rate anything is possible.

No.. I did not fast travel. Just ran after a wounded animal and then gave up on it and returned to follow the fatally wounded animal, but then the tracks had disappeared.

old tracks fade away after time, this is normally no issue.
BUT the time they do seems to be way to short. Otherwise i can also confirm that tracks sometimes end into nowhere and shot animals leaving no tracks. also mentioned discovered animals leaving no track when you reach the point.
I assume this all is bound to the teleporting bug. I just shot a fallow deer, it literally flew 80m through the air and landed in front of me. between the landing point and the point where it was shot there was no track at all. also i couldnt pick up this deer.
I had this on all maps. also spawning of animals i corrupted. had several herds which i followed ending that the animals spawned right surrounding me.
I also cought on video teleporting Bisons which made 100yards in half a second after i shot another one. Not funny at all whats going on currently.
yeah I just had one messed up moose up and vanish on me in the weirdest way.

I wandered into this area that was packed with animals all over got 17 of them by time I finished tracking them all down. All species as well for Lakes except Elk though saw an elk but had a choice to make and the moose went down instead HA HA

Anyways during this blood fest I shot a female moose and then mid tracking I got side tracked by other animals in the area. I then came back to this moose and picked up her trail again. Now granted I had detoured but oddly the tracks never changed to fresh or newer ones always the tracks said old despite me knowing I could not be that far behind her. I tracked her for along ways and you can see from the maps how far and the tracks were always close I was at a dead run the entire way as was getting tired so figured who cares if I spook an animal in this area as was so purple anyways HA HA

So I ran the entire way except when I stopped to drop one other moose she died quickly.

The one I had been trailing though she started out at the normal 75-100 then dropped to 50-75 and then for some reason skipped 25-50 and dropped immediately to 0-25 so I thought cool I should catch up with hr but the trail never changed even though I was running and she was walking for alot of it the tracks never changed from old to anything else not even very old.

She then up and vanished in the middle of a field and you can see her tracks are so close no way I could have missed the next one as I have all the good tracking perks and skills

She was shot with a 338

I've lost moose tracks twice in multiplayer. Tracked for only 3 minutes and all tracks disappeared. I could still see them in my hunter mate. There were musk deer tracks near still visible. No big deal.

yeah my case I ran after that thing for a good 30 -45 minutes when the tracks up and vanished

its wiers becuase you will have tracks that litter an area so bad you cant make heads or tales.. animals that just circle all over and confuse the crap out of it worse.. and they never seem to disapeer.. yet then you will suddenly get tracks that disapeer a couple minutes after something is shot.
its quite a mess.

I'm curious what bright shiney object they are going to give us in the next update in an attempt to distract us from these mounting bugs. Better be a good one.

Since when did they ever give us anything for their screwed patches? I mean the teleport bug is one of the worst bugs they introduced ever and i have not heared a sinlge sign of it that this bug has been acknowledged and fixed at all? And i am shure this bug is causing all this tracks disappearing. I followed yesterday an endless 0%-25% track and for the first time i was able to see that the animal was spawning near me and teleporting immediately hundreds of meters in half a second through the landscape. And trough the late spawning of the animal you have nearly no chance at all to get it as you wont see or hear it unless its spawning in your spooking range and porting trough the world immediately...

I don't think this is related to MP though as many seem to write about. I experienced this issue in SP.

Never seen the teleport-bug yet, but sure, it sounds like a possible explanation.. but it doesn't explain why the intital tracks had vanished :o

I have had this issue as well come up In multiplayer. I was in a multiplayer match and tracking A level 5 Blackbuck. Instead of going directly at it I had to go around the long way to get on the up side of the wind. I had him marked on my map but when I found where he was the entire herd had Left no footprints. I search up to 500 yd in a circle Pattern but never found it.
