Best bet is to find a resting era.
Plus also a warning call is not a track a track is on the ground so you have to find the track that is on the ground
Until you harvest an animal the tracks do stay on the ground so if you have shot 2 foxes and just left them then both their tracks are still on the ground meaning you might still be following their tracks in your hunt for the 3rd fox track. Harvest them and then you can find the 3rd easier but then guess won't mater if you have logged out those two dead fox will be gone so........
