Hunt during the day and explore at night.
I have started doing that. With 2 huge maps to explore there is a lot to discover, and hunting is easier during the day so this seems to be the most efficient way to play.

Sleeping over the night isn't so expensive that one should avoid it though. Night offers some great views too but I prefer exploring too at day times.
yeah I did that alot would hunt it out then when dark approached would hop on the ATV and just burn around to all the spots on the map just have to remember to turn on the headlights HA HA

There's a lot of people who miss out by not doing some hunting at night. It can be pretty exciting. I think a lot of people make the mistake of not waiting for the moonlight to hunt by. Getting down on the river banks and lowlands, hunting by moonlight... can be really fun, especially bear.

And if you think making a 400y+ kill-shot in the middle of the day is awesome - try getting one at night.

This is my go-to style of hunting when I get a bit bored just hunting days.
depends on your eyesight. I just find daytime less stressful on my eyes though I do know there are times the moon helps as the lights not gonna reach 400+ M's HA HA

It can also be bloody terrifying too! Creeping through thick forest in the dark, hearing a loud growl next to your ear and having a boar burst out and attack you...is NOT good for your heart!
Also, left my hunter crouched in a bush and went out for a smoke. Came back, put headphones on and the biggest Roosevelt elk I've ever seen had walked up behind me and let out one of it's horrible shrieks!

I now get a nervous eye twitch when hunting at night! lol

is bow hunting still blah?

I'd say you're missing out by not hunting at night. I got my highest scoring Red Fox at like 1am. Difficulty 8-Mythical, scored an even 900 points. Some animals are just super active at night, sure it makes them harder to see but that's part of the challenge of hunting nocturnal animals. But when you catch a monster like that walking around at night rather then trying to see it sleeping in a bush during the day, I'd call it easier.

Hunting at night is great fun.

Explore in daylight, enjoy the views.. hunt at night, its a blast. (torch off of course!)

Amen.

I said this in another post, but I think most people seem to think night hunting is just as it is immediatly after the sun goes down, and they never wait for the moonrise. It's some of the most entertaining and relaxing hunting.

Hunting the lowlands, beside the river in the Pacific NW, or in the middle of a corn/straw field on the European side... I love it. Wish I could do the same on the ice in the new map, but that's strictly my MP map for my best friend and I.

Night hunting is awesome. If you take the time to do it right one time, you will go back to it again and again.

+1 on the night hunting. I also mentioned this in a post months ago. If the moon is shining you can often see better with the flashlight off.

I hunt every night. I am on the vermin control mission right now hunting coyote and it is really fun to do this at night

Speaking about hunt under full moon, do Moon phases ever change?

I never use the light while hunting (other than to track a kill). It's fun as heck.

Nope.

And interesting thing about the in-game moon (which I posted long ago), the image they use is incorrect, it's a mirror image of the moon. (Well, it has been - I'm not sure if it's been fixed since I mentioned it long ago.) I just noticed how odd it looked one day. It's not a rotation thing or a European/US vantage point thing - it's a mirror image.

That's a shame, really. So, we are actually stuck in space

Yeah, that's actually another issue with the Moon. Why it does not look like real one? There is no licencing issue for Moon appearence as far as I know
