Rarely have I ever been charged by a moose, let alone killed by one, and the same goes for elk and even wild boars. Bison, yes, they are proper fierce and ill-tempered (which is why they're so much fun to hunt!), but I do think some of the other big game in COTW need an aggression buff, as they're just not dangerous enough to be as exciting as they could be (like Bison are).
Heck, even black bears don't seem all that aggressive or scary, yet I've heard that IRL they can be quite dangerous to hunt (not an actual hunter, so I really don't know how accurate the game is with this). Same with the black bears, though; I'm not sure I've ever been actually killed by one yet, and I've killed TONS since getting the game back in March.
I really, really hope the brown bears in the new reserve live up to the hype and are a force to be reckoned with. Gonna be disappointed if they're wimpy and easily dealt with (like the black bears). I'm hoping for something even more challenging (and scary!) than bison. :D
Had one bear charge me out of the tons i dropped, and he didnt do any damage, just ran up to me fast and roared in my face, so i thanked him properly. but those brown bear scare me, that is going to be intersesting.
Haha! Bloody rodents. I blame that damn Squirrel from the Tufty Club. A UK thing about road safty from the 60's!
I know, I went to it. I was seduced by that fluffy tailed rodent. All cute and nice to start with. Then you lower your guard, let him into your life and the next thing you know, he's stealing your nuts!!.
He started all this trouble with rodents and cars too. If they're not knocking you off your ATV, then they're chewing through your engine electrics.
It's a fair point. I like the relaxed game play of CotW too. Unlike DayZ where 70% of the players (That is, if anyone still plays that woeful game?) will KoS regardless.
Firsstly - Fallow? Roe? When a heard is stampeding towards you, my first thought was to get outta the way (Which didn't work!), and not ask from which particular species they belong.
Secondly - I know. That's what confused me first. That was the first time I'd seen deer in such a large herd. Especially coming towards me as they did.
Thirdly - A good job I have great bladder control, I can tell you!!!!
I just want realism and challenge, and IRL these very large animals can be a very serious threat and challenge to hunt, so personally, I'd appreciate them being a bit more like that in the game, too...instead of being generally wimpy overall, which is what most are now (yet are not IRL).
Frankly, the most fun hunts my friends and I have had together have been bison hunts, simply because they're so aggressive and dangerous. It's a blast. But when we don't want that kind of challenge or mayhem, we just avoid those areas or the bison themselves if we see them, and can still have plenty of relaxing, non-confrontational (easy) hunts.
At any rate, my friends and I definitely hope the brown bears in Medved-Taiga turn out to be aggressive and scary! :)
