According to the codex only the scent. Which sucks because the scents don't work very good at all.

Just the scent. There is no caller for the Musk Deer. The tool tip on the callers tell you what animals they work with. Check out the other callers you will see the new animals listed on the other callers. For some reason they made the Dusk Deer non attractable by a caller.

just doing a video and one of the missions is to get a musk deer tracked near one and sprayed musk deer scent and had a herd come straight away.worked well.

I guess I'll have to try it again. Never had much luck with it. Do you have to be upwind?

Yes wind has to be blowing toward the deer to carry the scent to it. Works good when you can get the wind in the right direction.
