Coloration on map?

Sometimes i get purple/red blotches on my map. just got the game today and was wondering what those mean?

This shows areas that you have killed animals, producing hunting pressure in that area.

So it's bad to hunt in those areas? when does it go away?

as you hunt in other areas and get kills there where you shot animals before the color starts to fade and it fully clears.

Called Hunting Preasure but I'm pretty sure it's broken.
You can still call in animals to that area and animals still go into that area normally so it's quite meaningless.
